Comment:

It's been a l-o-n-g time since this class but it is still my most memorable. At the beginning of each class, Swinyard started in on his "hit list" of students. The rest of us learned to pay attention, examine, think, and contribute only the most focused and pertinent comments. The rewards were high andd the class was absolutely great.

Comment:

Five years after graduation I still consider Swinyard the best professor I had at BYU. He was the most consistenly helpful, enthusiastic, and focused of any. If you paid attention his lectures were clear, on point, and interesting. When he spoke about personal vision he captured me like no one else.

Swinyard freakin' rocks! He is so hilarious, shows ad spots all the time, and reads random forwards to his class. He asks how we're doing every time and actually cares. Tests are not too tough if you study hard from the lecture slides. Assignments are very doable and they help you learn. One of the best classes at BYU. Take it from Bill!

Swinyard is one of the best teachers I have had. The subject matter is tough and the lectures aren't always entertaining, but is that a requirment, to entertain the student? He gave his cell phone number to the entire class! He really wants to help and cares about his students. Great guy and teacher

Great teacher.Really works hard at making lecture interesting. Lecture does get long and it is easy to fall asleep. Tests are also difficult, KNOW the class notes packet you buy.

I found his lectures to be pretty boring most of the time, but I think he does a good job with what I consider to be terribly boring subject matter. His tests are ridiculously hard, but he curves them a lot to make up for it.

Prof. Swinyard did an excellent job teaching this class. I was kind of dreading it, thinking it was going to be boring, but he made it very entertaining. His tests are hard, but fair. He is also very understanding of students problems and tries to work things out with them. I highly reccommend him!

I took his class in 2001 fall and enjoyed it. All of the test answers were in his lecture notes. He gave some people a hard time about Mountain Dew drinking and so on. He was funny though. Showed a lot of respect on Sept 11.

Nice guy, but the lecturing. . .He does try to make it interesting but he's not terribly clear about the concepts. The tests aren't bad but they are random (some of the questions I still don't know what he was asking).
