Comment:

Prof. Li is awesome! Though speaking with some accent, he teaches the concepts very clearly and takes time to go through homework problems in class if you have any questions. He is a relatively easy grader and would give us an automatic A if we got 100% on the final. Very doable class. Oh, we didn't do any proofing in this Linear Algebra class.

Comment:

This was not an easy course, but it was doable! Dr. Li was a fun teacher. He spoke English with a heavy accent, but everything was understandable and also entertaining. He's kind and accessible, with a fun, unique sense of humor. His practice tests are good preparation for the real tests. I read the book a lot when I didn't quite understand stuff.

Comment:

Took him for a graduate class, so keep that in mind. Complex analysis is boring to me, but Dr. Li made it somewhat interesting. Unintentionally hilarious. Tests are usually from HW problems. EASY A if you study at all. Just do the HW and then fake your way through the tests. Takes 20 seconds to grade a test. May not catch huge leaps in logic.

I enjoyed Dr. Li's class. He is funny and can make the class more lively. Fair and understanding w/grading. He covers material in class kind of fast, so you'll have to do some reviewing outside of class. He prepared us very well for our exams.

Dr. Li is pretty good and fun to take a class from, but most of your learning will be by yourself. If anything this course was too easy. His tests are indeed composed of homework problems, and sometimes (depending on the class) he gives you the answer key before the test so you can study. I didn't feel like I was very pushed, but I did learn stuff.

Dr Li is really funny and explains things really clearly and very willing to go over problems. Tests are based solely off of homework assignments so study those and you're golden. He goes over the homeworks in class before a test so go to class!!! I felt the final was extremely difficult, though. He is your best option for 313! Take him!

Dr. Li is hilarious. I went to class, not because it really helped, but because he was so entertaining. The class itself however was very organized and fair. Tests were identical to the homework so if you put in the time you will do well, guaranteed. Definitely the best option for 313.

Even though I didn't really go to class because he was kinda hard to understand, I realized that he was probably the best of the choices. The tests were doable if you do the homework and he is very approachable and is willing to work with you. I'm glad I took the class from him and not some of the other ones.

If you pay close attention, you will find all his examples are motivated by the preceding discussion. He strikes a balance between questions and covering material. If you are prepared and do the reading, he will answer your questions.

Dr. Li tests from the homework, which is very helpful for a subject that tends to be challenging. If you can read and do your homework in the math lab or with classmates, you should do very well in his classes. 'The test problems are from the homework problems.' What more do you want? Dr. Li's class is great for people in applied math fields. He uses a lot of examples and places emphasis on the homework and computational methods rather than proofs. If you don't like proofs this is the class for you. Tests come straight from homework problems. His English isn't that good, but you get used to it.
