Class is pretty easy. As long as you go to class, youll pass the tests and essays. She does a great job in explaining and discussing the short stories. However, would not recommend the class if you dont have a good grasp of Spanish at the intermediate level. She talks fast at times but is always willing to repeat herself or write it down.

At first her speaking is very intimidating as she speaks very fluent and fast, but surprisingly she is understandable despite the speed. She is very sweet and willing to help. She writes random things on the board so just remember those things. 2 exams & 2 essays along with a group presentation. Open textbook exams so you need the book. Very fair

Very nice teacher. Surprised me at first with how well she speaks spanish. very demanding of students and was intimidating to non-native speakers, but in the long run she greatly helped improve my speaking. warmed up to her by the end of the semester and as long as you show effort into learning she will help you and keep that in mind when grading.

Good teacher and kind person. I like her and understanding self-demanding teaching. Fair at rating. I love her accent; it sticks out that sheƂ´s got spanish family(by the slangs she uses)Nice to find such a competent and nice person in class. Well done.

very intelligent woman and great teacher...you will most likely have trouble if youre not a native speaker. she appreciates effort and you can show that by going to her office hours. its really important to take notes and participate in class. exams are pretty difficult and are strongly based on context. overall, a very nice woman though.

Kim is a lovely woman, but she means business. SHe is very understanding when you go to her office hours, but attendance in class is very important. She is fast paced but an excellent professor who knows her stuff very well.

Very knowledgeable and passionate about span lit. But if you're not a native speaker and you have a hard time just listening and taking notes without visual aids, it's going to be a challenge bc she talks FAST and barely writes on the board. However, she will clarify if you ask her to and if you go to office hours, she can be semi-helpful.

She speaks fast and ONLY is spanish, which is really good, believe it or not. It can seem overwhelming at first but it trains you to understand spanish. She's an excellent teacher, she'll clarify anything you ask her to BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK! She never makes you feel stupid for not knowing something - just be up front with it. I love the class.

She explains the texts very well in class. The exams are questions that she has gone over in class and therefore aren't difficult. Very nice professor! There are 2 exams and a quiz at the end of the course. There are 2 essays. She may be more strict on the essays (she counts grammar and good analysis of the text). Overall, great class and prof

this proff. is good, i'm a native speaker and found her easy to understand, even though she had a spanish accent, although if not a native speaker i wouldnt recommend. Exams were fine as long as u organize ur notes and study. PAY ATTENTION IN class it makes all the difference between a C and a A. readings are boring but what can u expect..take KIM!

Yale-educated Professor Kim is extremely intimidating, especially to us GRINGOS who don't speak Spanish fluently. The class more or less turned into a conversation between Professor Kim and the native speakers. Very knowledgable, but very demanding, and was not very understanding of student errors
