Ozeki sensei is awesome! She's the nicest lady ever. There's a bunch of quizzes, but they're seriously not that hard. All you need to do is study for a good hour and you'll do fine. Even if you don't do fine, she allows you to do corrections with partial points back. No one should ever get below a B in Japanese.

To refute against one of the previous comments, Japanese is a difficult language to learn. In any language, if you want to excel, you'll have to make flashcards and study rigorously. Ozeki may not be perfect, but having her as my Japanese professor is very enjoyable. I don't stress too much from this class. Read before class, study before exams = A

Very sweet professor, very willing to help. Has a tendency to go on tangents that can be interesting a/o funny if understood, but usually irrelevant. It helps a lot to study on your own or in groups. Veterans of her class are pretty willing to help you if you don't understand what she's saying.

This woman is absolutely amazing--I Love her! Absolutely adorable, incredibly sweet, and, well, an easy class to take. The language is a bit difficult, but her goal is to have you learn, and she will make damn sure you do ^ ^

Okay; part II. What can I say about ozeki...she's insanely nice, and just wants you to learn Japanese. Unfortunately, her English is quite hard to understand, and sometimes she launches right into pure Japanese; for a non-native, this is EXTREMELY hard to understand. If you wanna study Japanese, you MUST be serious about it, and study outside class

Ozeki sensei is quite possibly the nicest professor on campus, and is extremely willing to help. She also understands the "college situation" and is extremely lenient when it comes to deadlines. The only problem is understanding her; at times she can be extremely cryptic. You must study on your own or else you will fail.

As a human being, she's awesome: funny, light-hearted, and smily. As a teacher, she frustrates me. Her grasp of English is a tad unreliable, so abstract questions are never answered. The stuff we have to memorize is a bit arbitrary and poorly explained. We'll memorize sentences without learning the individual words. I like her; I now hate Japanese.

first off, she is THE cutest lady you'll ever meet! always smiling and giggling! i took japanese in high school, and i don't know how those with no previous knowledge followed the class. lots of studying is involved, and she's kind of random with her teaching. but is more than happy to help out
