All he does is lecture and goes off topic half the time. Takes forever and barely ever gets to the point right away. Goes off about little things that tick him off and tries to give us life advice which in the end is just really rude. I can guarantee not a single student in my class likes him. Ive never been more annoyed in a class in my life.

He treats everyone like a freshman. Everything has to be done his way or its wrong. he lectures for 3/4 of the lab time then gets upset when u finish the lab fast to leave one time. The long winded lectures are about simple things learned in 8th grade. this class is only good if you've never done math or physics before in your life. For PHY 125L

He is verbally abusive and does not comprehend questions. There is a language barrier that I would not typically object to, but he refuses to acknowledge questions. I would have dropped the class but he is the only professor that teachers this class.

I had Professor Chinn for the Fall 2014 semester, and I had a rough start with the quizzes, but I improved throughout the semester. He may not be organized with putting the right amount of questions for the final exam, but if you do your work and show effort. He will give you a curve and you will get a good grade.

I normally wait until the semester is finished. But for those registering for next semester I had to warn you. DO NOT take this guy. Unfortunately he was the only one teaching PHY 126 lab, but if you have a choice get out of this class. Verbally abusive. Totally unclear and inaccurate. Throws tantrums. Seriously, stay away.

I took Chinn for Physics 1 over the summer. Do NOT take him. Quizzes every day and grades homework's. He does not know how to teach the class, his hand writing is sloppy and don't bother asking him a question he will only tell you how stupid you are and how students like us are ruining this country (Exact Quote). Hardest lab grader ever.

Okay you'll think you're failing. Do the hw and show up on time. The quiz every class is on the hw. He drops the lowest 5 quiz grades. He wants at least 1 page in depth explanation with equations on lab reports. If you ace the final you'll ace the class. I gave up mid semester because I thought I was failing. Grades are arbitrary

Worst teacher I ever had! Doesn't speak English well, teaches irrelevant material, and his final was insane. Gives homework, some quizzes, and a final exam. Didn't really give a grading rubric, so I had no idea how I was doing throughout the class. Made many arithmetic errors in class, and got angry when we tried to correct him. Avoid if possible!

one more thing, don't wait till the finals unless you don't work because Archimedes would be confused too. mathematically, his finals are not worth as much as we think. Try and get good grades in assignments, quizzes and lab because those are the easiest. This is just an advice to all who wants to take him

Overall,I don't think he's as bad as people make us think. He demands a lot his students. He reviews all assignments in class before a quiz and they are same questions just different numbers. He gets mad though when students can't do simple things like punching numbers in a calculator , yet challenge him his answers.I'll do the same too. One more...

Do not take this class during the summer especially if you work full time. He has quizzes EVERYDAY and gives no time to hand in the labs or study the material. Grading on labs are INSANE. He's really smart just not a good teacher. Makes the class more intense then it needs to be.

This guy is one of the worst teachers I have ever come across. You will know a few things when you leave his class, you are all cheater, your lazy, and you are stupid. He will go on about his time, will not listen to questions or when you ask for help or need a different expalaniton, and don't even thing about doing a problem differently than him.

Writing this to save future students. Worst human being and professor I have ever met. I have never met a teacher who is so obnoxiously rude to students and openly states how dumb american students are. He will purposely fail you.

You could dig up James Prescott Joule, re-animate his corpse, have HIM write your lab report on Joule's Law and Dr. Chinn would still find SOMETHING wrong with it (even if you attached a thesis on how you re-animated Joule's corpse). Go with another professor if you can, but if you're stuck with him, it's not the end of the world...
