I'm so bored in this class! I love the material, and have no trouble focusing on the reading or homework at home. But Yuko's lectures are 95% her reading our of the book, word for word, after we've already read it at home. The class seems fast-paced for beginners. A lot of students seem to drop out every semester.

NOT EASY. Yuko teaches what needs to be taught. But she doesn't always explain or give examples. There's a language barrier. She face palms and acts upset at you for not doing good enough. 2 oral presentations (mem 15 lines), 1 oral exam, 5 lesson tests, 1 final, 1 in class essay, 1 skit (20 lines mem). You'll have ZERO time for other classes.

Attendance is very important in this class! The presentations and assignments that are given to you are worth alot of credits, so make sure to stay on task and complete those assignments. Homework is VERY IMPORTANT! Sensei is a very kind and wonderful professor, she is willing to put in time to help you if you need it, and you tend to learn alot.

Presentations and assignments are key to complete. Attendance matters and be comfortable with participating. Stay truthful, she remembers your face and answers. Critique and communication is provided when requested. Buy the book. Tests and quizzes book based. The golden rule is essential, do to sensei as sensei would do to you.

She is a very kind teacher. She explains everything that she teaching and if you are not paying attention she will go over it as many times as you may need, or until it cannot be simplified anymore. She only cares about the students who want to learn and shows the proper way to write and structure the Japanese language.

I took Japanese for 2 years in high school, so I took this class mostly for review. The class itself was fast paced with a 10 minute break between the first and second hour. All homework was collected and there is no extra credit. Expect the last month of class to be all testing, highly recommend her.

She is a hard teacher. may be nice but not all the time! She goes fast with an elementary Jap! And jump fast with writing compleat sentences! If you missed just small line in the symbole then wrong so I recomend you have some backgroung in Japanese then come take the class. Its almost I had feeling that she doesn't want you to learn the language

Not an easy teacher, but she's just doing her job. Pretty realistic, when it comes to deadlines and what she expects - mess things up? Better drop! While her class is non-flexible in the required material, she is a very hard worker, when it comes to correcting your mistakes. Still, a bunch of people drop her class because of the difficulty.

Dionne sensei is a very good teacher. Very clear and precise lectures. She does not allow students to interrupt her lectures and she will let them know when they do. You most definitely need to do your homework to keep up with the class. The bottom line is: Dionne sensei is professional, skilled, and also very easy on the eyes.

She was a wonderful teacher and honestly cares about how her students are doing! The class was a lot of fun, and she makes sure to thoroughly cover what will be on the tests, so no surprises. I wish she taught 121 as well, I really enjoyed her!
