This guy wastes class time teaching things you don't need to know, and assigns readings that aren't on the exams, which is the only thing he grades. He offers extra credit if you go to every class, but it may not be worth it because you actually lose brain cells in the process. Is korean, and speaks with a heavy accent. Makes me want to drop out

This class is beyond tough. Tests are 50 mc, 2 take home short answers, as well as 2 in class. I showed up everyday for the credit. but being there did not help AT ALL. Do yourself and buy the book because you are going to have to teach yourself. The one good thing is that he curves it at the end, but if you do not show up he will NOT help you.

Professor Kim is not that bad of a teacher. Paying attention in class is key. Class is composed of 3 tests, 50 mc, 2 take home essay questions, and 2 in class essay questions. He gives you the essay questions prior to test and a sheet that should have the topics that will be tested on exam. A lot of people still fail his exams so he'll give curves.

If you want to understand economics, don't take this class. This professor is impossible to understand. My classes test averages were usually around a 45. But he does curve all the grades so the class average is a C. The online homework's are your only chance at passing, do them. My advice of you have to take the class, read the book.

Professor Kim knows what he is discussing. He is tough teacher because of a strong accent. Lots of homework; through the textbook and it's all done online. The homework will really help you pass, especially if you don't do well on his test. In class tests are difficult and based on his lectures, not really the homework's.

He has a really strong accent so sometimes it's difficult to understand what he is saying. He used to use powerpoint for notes but he stopped because he thinks the students are listening to his lecture and they're just focusing on the powerpoint. But sometimes you just have to listen REALLY carefully to get the idea of what he is saying.

DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH YUNG-MO KIM!!! you can't understand him at all! He used to do powerpoints but got rid of them so we can "listen to him lecture." horrible teacher, hard to understand, rude.

just don't take it. he got into a screaming match with a student, then lectured us for 50 minutes on why we aren't passing. we can't understand him is one reason. another is he doesn't want to answer questions. the average of his 3 classes in tests was around a 45% each time. kind of says something. oh and he likes to talk to the blackboard.

The teacher is the worst at understanding and he won't answer your questions or emails either. Hard class but if you do all the online homework's then you should get a B. His tests are really hard but he always adds around a 30 point curve.

The course itself is difficult but Dr.Kim himself is a good teacher, despite his sometimes difficult to understand accent. There is a lot of work for this course so don't expect to breeze through this class. The in class tests draw directly from the online homework/tests, so be sure to do everything.

If you do not attend class regularly, DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT!! He will give you the foundation of the material you need to know in class lectures, but you NEED to study the material through the book to succeed. 3 Exams, 50 MC, 2 written ?'s in class, 2 written ?'s take home. HUGE curves (30pts+), exams are very detailed.

Do not take this class. He gives you HW that is due every 5 days on myeconlab. Each HW is 50 questions, but some of the questions have several parts. He also gives test on there which are separate from the 4 class exams. The last test the high grade was a 68 gave us a 30 point curve. If you miss so many classes he wont give you the curve.

I came on here to see about this professor, and when I saw "30 pt curve," I took the class thinking I could blow it off and my 50s would turn into 80s. Big mistake. His exams are insanely hard, and you cannot bulls*hit your way through them. He's horribly difficult to understand, so you have to teach yourself all the material (if your willing to)

TAKE THIS CLASS WITH ANOTHER PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN!!! He has a real thick accent and he enjoyed talking to the board so whenever he faced the class he mumbled. On test day all the questions are based on graphs and he curves crazy; 20, 30 points each exam (4 exams lowest dropped)! He said he didn't want to teach in a lecture hall and now I see why...

incredibly hard to understand. often talked to the board instead of to the students. tells you what to study for the tests. his notes on the board are chaotic and messy so its hard to get the jist of what his trying to teach

Kim totally rocks!!! His lectures are intense, but the tests basically are the class notes; so all you have to do is pay close attention and write down as much as you can. A little memorization is also required; but start doing so as early as possible to avoid cramming. Attendance is important and he gives the biggest curves ever!!!
