Clearly all of the people that gave negative ratings to this teacher cant handle a bad grade. This teacher was fantastic and I loved her lectures. The essays were easy and engaging. Seriously. Take her class. Shes fine.

Zena is not only one of the kindest, sweetest human beings you'll ever meet, she is also a very insightful instructor. She helped me look at the world in a different light than ever before through the study of mythology. I wish I could have her as my instructor again!!

May seem like a nice person but she can be very superficial when it comes to grading your papers. If it's not of her interest, you will not get a good grade. Her quizzes really seem like full-blown tests and there is too much reading that really leads to nothing in the end.

Zena is a delight! Yes, she can be a little scattered, but her classes are always filled with relevant and stimulating discussions that are appropriate to the subject. Some people may need more structure. She is not bound to the syllabus, but she doesn't stray too far. I've taken 2 classes and loved both of them. We've stayed friends.

Professor Juhasz is the best English teacher at Shasta College, hands down. People dislike the learning process, therefore automatically assuming discontent in any course they are "forced" to take. Give her a shot and you will learn everything you are willing comprehend.

Zena was quite possibly one of the worst teachers I have ever had in my entire life, she is unable to explain concepts clearly for the whole class to understand, it's not that I didn't understand, she just expected much more than she conversed. for example, she graded my paper upon a prompt she never discussed in class.

Zena's class was interesting and informative. Her class structure is open and changeable. Some students may need a more rigid syllabus. I never found it to be a problem. Some wonderfully creative writing came from that class. Zena showed me that I CAN write poetry, where before, I didn't think I could. Thanks Zena!

After having read several reviews of Zena, I'm stunned to hear such bad reviews. Mythology and Philosophy can offend many people especially Christians, as they take the content as a personal attack on there beliefs. Zena was great, she is professional, she cares about her students and was always there to help. She definitely goes above and beyond!

I agree that she relies heavily on Joseph Campbell. She doesn't explain the important papers well or she changes her mind a few days before it's due. She's not great with time and dates; this semester, with three weeks left, she assigned a 6-8 pg paper, a powerpoint pres for the paper, & something like a book report. ...

Zena clearly doesn't research what she covers in class. She basis everything on the work of Joseph Campbell, but never anything else. She has often offend people in class because of her lack of knowledge in the things she tries to teach. I don't recommend taking her class at all; it's one of the worst I've ever taken.

Welcome "To the World According to Zena". She is one of the worst professors I've ever had. She's not a good teacher. If you have strong beliefs you'll want to stay out of her class. Took her world mythology class. Wasn't at all what I expected, being largely about archetypes. She knew her subject, but it was hard to get a grasp on exactly what she wanted from us.
