If you want to be challenged, this is not the class for you. Its what I would expect from high school, which was disappointing. So easy I founded it boring.

I took this for the research seminar course; we had to conduct our own research. It was a great course because we never really had class and we were able to do our project, but he was always able to reply to emails quickly and help if we ever needed

Guo is a great professor! The class is made up of 3 exams and a final, and he drops the lowest exam of the 3. There are pop quizzes occasionally but they're like 3 easy questions over the short stories at the beginning of chapters. For the exams you can use your notes and the study guide!! make a good study guide for the exam and you'll have an A!

Guo is a very sweet professor who is willing to help if you need it. He has a thick accent that is slightly difficult to understand, but uses powerpoints so you can just read it! Always asks for examples and explanations, in class participating during lectures. 4 tests (essay Qs) and a paper. Will have to work for an A but not a difficult class!

Great lecturer and uses Socratic method to make you think more about whatever subject the focus in upon that lecture. Tons of anecdotes and loves to make you laugh. Avery good motivator and always accessible.

Dr. Guo is a great man. He loves to joke that the kids who don't attend class are always fishing. He loves talking about his wheelchair Tai Chi that he created. You have to read 1 chapter a week, but he also goes over the material in class. Random, 3 question pop quizzes, but they are over the story at the beginning of each chapter.

One of the best teachers I took at Chatt. Attendance wasnt mandatory since he posted notes on Blackboard and lectures were smooth and followable. Never do more than one assignment a week. And the partner study he makes you do at the end is super easy. No more than a page long and he graded them with no hard guideline of what he wanted. TAKE HIM!

He doesn't seem very interested in students or teaching. It didn't help that he couldn't seem to remember my name.

He is so easy to like. He has a study guide for the tests and a third of what you need to know are definitions. Use the book for the study guide. You just won't know some answers on the test though. He has weekly pop quizzes worth just 3 points. 4-6 homework assignments that are quick. He really enjoys what he teaches and I highly recommend him.

I didn't like his class. He's hard to understand and just repeats himself. He also expects you to bow down to him. All he does is teach about China. Strange man.

Very interesting class! Be sure to have the book because it is definition oriented. He also pulls certain examples from the book on exams and quizzed. Accent is difficult to understand sometimes, but his lectures are highly interesting.

Class is very definition oriented; however, it is still fun! Professor Guo does have a hard to understand accent but you get use to it after a few classes. If you study, his tests are easy. Quizzes are online and very easy. He does do pop-quizzes but if you read prior to class, you can ace them!

Very easy class. Usually starts class with "you might be a redneck" jokes. Good-humored and extremely nice and approachable man. His accent can be a little hard to understand but it's not a big issue.

Dr. Guo was an incredible teacher. He always talked to me before and after the class and was always cracking me up and interested in what was going on in the my life. I would (and probably will) take another class by him if I can. Just go to class (cause he recognizes when you don't), study the material, do the study guide and you're fine.
