Zillah is a great professor! I'm surprised at the reviews she has. I found her lectures clear, interesting, informative, and eye-opening. She does have very strong beliefs and her passion for them is no secret. That being said, you do NOT have to have her beliefs to do well in the class. I would highly recommend taking AT LEAST one class with her!

I am freaking out. I am currently in this class and there are only 2 papers, based on the thousands of pages we have to read, I am so behind, she assigns too much, and I am not confident about my papers. Interesting ideas, but I agree you will probably have to agree with her side to get a good grade.

Comment:

Zillah is an interesting prof with very rigid beliefs. This is reflected in her lectures which in turn are difficult for many students. Once I accepted the fact that I was a horrible person for being born a white man the class became much more bearable. I also found out that my opinions were always wrong except for when they mirrored her ideas.

What a warm and helpful professor. Class is a bit heavy handed on the lectures but if you take the time to see Zillah you will find that she is more than willing to help you and guide you to understanding some pretty difficult political theory. Highly recommend her!

Comment:

One of the most influential learning experiences of my life Liberalism and Marxism was. Zillah really helped me open my eyes to a new way of viewing politics. However, your grade is from only two papers.. and yes she is definitely a tough grader... take the class to learn a lot not to get an A

The absolute worst professor I ever had. She leaves no room for views other than her own. Even though I agreed with her personally, I couldn't stand how she stifled intelligent debate. She forces you to buy 3 of her own books despite the fact that they were completely useless in the class. Avoid her at all costs.

I took Feminists Theories & I'm currently taking her Power... class. She is amazing! As for failing men & those who don't agree with her, it's NOT true. I know for a fact that there were men & students w/ different views & she gave them the grades they deserved for the work they turned in (ie pple can get As). I highly recommend Zillah's classes!

Loved her. Refreshing class with a refreshing professor. It was nice to take a break from the easy boring spoon-fed "liberal" politics. If you have time to do lots of reading and to invest lots of thinking-- Zillah is your woman!

AMAZING PROFESSOR-- if you were "brainwashed" you might not have had a brain to begin with. I'd see someone about that. What a stupid thing to write on someone's review. If you want a new perspective on the world/politics, Zillah is the woman. Take anything with her. I liked liberalism and marxism too.
