Most people will say she is a rough grader, but she explained that her lectures are easier classes and the AP credit classes are more rigorous. Be prepared to read the plays that are required, other than that go to class and take notes and you'll do fine in this class. It is a good class to fulfill your Fine Arts credits.

Zoie is more fun in the theatre than other courses. The rehearsal hours are really long and go late into the night. The more classes you take with her the more likely you are to get on her good side. She might make you do running around for her. She mentions her short temper but didn't have any major issues. Be prepared to put a lot into it.

As the class progresses the grading gets tougher and tougher. She actually likes it when students ask questions. Read the syllabus closely because not giving your speech on the day assigned will result in a grade drop of 25% for that speech. If possible, try to choose topics that she may have never heard before. The two exams are take home.

She is very knowledgeable in passionate about theater. She is OK at explaining things over again. Her class is tough. You are aloud a cheat sheet on exams. Quizzes spring up quite frequently, the day after reading a play. She is nicer in smaller classes. She doesn't care much for her speech classes online. She expects you to know all the material

Terrible teacher! she has her favorites and if you're not one of them your grade suffers horribly, even if your speeches are amazing compared to her favorites, they'll be getting the A's, you'll be getting the C's as best. Expects students to be professional but she herself is not. Grades us on things she doesn't tell us before speeches.Very Bad!

Don't listen to everyone--her class was one of the easiest on campus! You just have to be willing to do three things. 1.)go to class, as this is a large portion of the grade, 2.) do the speeches, you don't even have to light the world on fire, just do them, and 3.) DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! SHE OFFERS TONS OF IT, BUT NOBODY TAKES ADVANTAGE OF IT.

Nope, nada, nay is what I say to this ridiculous person who is somehow known as a professor. Unclear, unprofessional, unorganized, inflexible, crude, and very biased when grading which is very wrong. I recommend all to stay away from this "teacher."

Should be teaching in a reform school as opposed to college; unapproachable; inflexible; rude; non-professional appearance; hands down THE worst instructor at Richland. May know her stuff but the key to teaching is that one needs to be able to share what you know.

She has a pretty laid back class but I don't understand her picky grading system. you have to work hard for your grade which I agree with but she is inconsistent with her directions and unorganized. Overall, endured to fulfill a requirement but not liked at all.

Oh come on, Zoie is tough/dramatic, but it all pays off in the end! I took that class in 2000, and now I can't think how many times those skills helped me in other classes back in Russia and in current career. I also tried going to her theater class, but then dropped, but I will always remember her comparing me to Audrey Hepburn!! Thanks Zoie :)

THE WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! I have been in school a long time now, but she is the only teacher that will not give you a good score on a speech if you take a side she does not agree with. AVOID HER CLASS.

I took her class a few years back and thought it was horrible. Know that I've graduated and earned my B.S I can say with certainty that it's easer to take your speech classes at a 4 year university. I got a C in Zoe's class and an A @ UW-Madison. I wasn't a favorite and my grade reminded me of that everyday. It's too bad she's still there!!!!!!!!!

Get used to it, people... It doesn't get any easier in a 4 yr institution or graduate school. You think her class is hard, just wait. Professors like this who are tougher to get an A are there to prove college is not some skip over the f-in rainbow. Public speaking is meant to well presented. You'll find students in a 4 yr uni in suits at times

Very confusing class, very inconsistant prof. She takes points away for not dressing well for our speaches but doesn't set a good example herself. Very unprofessional, at times almost rude. I took the class my first term hoping to become a better public speaker but went away feeling beaten and unfit for college.

She is lazy and is a very picky grader. But at UWR you really don't have a choice of whether or not you take her for COM 103.... so just work hard in there and stay on her good side. Otherwise, you're pretty much screwed.
