It is VERY difficult to understand Dr. Zhou, not only because of his accent but also because he never does a good job explaining anything. Things are different from the tests to your notes & his powerpoints. A lot of what is on his tests are things he just says out loud during his lectures. So, pay attention. Very boring class.

Comment:

Boring class but needed for hospitality and tourism majors. No homework which is nice but his lectures are so boring and long. I thought he was confusing because info was different from what he said, what was on the power points, and what was on the test. His tests are very wordy and can be confusing. There is a group project but it's not hard.

This Professor was just awful. It was very hard to understand him in class, and it was extremely difficult to get into his office hours. Very tough Grader and I would recommend not taking his class.

I have no idea what any of these people are talking about but this professor is the worst. He is unclear and contradicts himself on the tests. I have learned absolutely nothing in this class. DO NOT TAKE UNLESS A REQUIREMENT.

Comment:

Professor Zhou is very passionate about teaching and I feel it is reflected in his lectures. He truly cares for the development of the students and making sure you understand the material. He gives a test about every three chapters and has a group presentation at the end. It is manageable and I learned a lot. I am glad I took his course.

Dr. Zhou is very enthusiastic and funny. Every class he makes the class laugh with his enactments of situations and hypotheticals. If you are going to take Management and Leadership at Niagara University, take it with Dr. Zhou!

I think that Dr. Zhou is a great professor! He goes very in depth with the notes in class and will go over a topic until you fully understand it. I think the class is very interesting. His test are easy if you take good notes and go to class.

I've taken 3 classes with Dr. Zhou. Lectures can get boring, but you need to pay close attention in order to pass the tests. If you are confused he will be there to help. Don't miss the class after a test as you will go over it and may receive extra points on the test. Overall you learn a lot about the industry.

Worst teacher ever. Hands down. His technology class that I took in 2014 taught us about technology from 2004. Completely irrelevant. He is not a nice guys and his classes are the most painful to sit through, Avoid his class at all costs.

I highly recommend his classes. His grading and class outline is very clear. He cares about his students and works very hard to make sure we are learning. He always puts the students first and cares about their interests. He is very knowledgeable of the hospitality industry and you will learn a great deal from him. Make sure to attend all classes.

I've taken 5 classes with Dr. Zhou, he is very knowledgeable in the field of hospitality and tourism. You have to know how to take his classes. Sometimes he is hard to understand but he will always repeat or find another way to explain, you just have to ask. Lectures can be boring but if you pay attention, take notes, and participate you'll pass.

Basically reads from the powerpoints. I didn't read the book at all. Speakers are beneficial - you never know when you might need to network. The semester project is you get out of it what you put in; presentations were repetitious, but debate was good. Asks for feedback during and after reviews/tests. He's a good guy.

If you actually find a way to understand him, you still will miss out on every random thing he decides to throw on his test. Grantid, on occassional birthdays its fun to hear him sing in chinese, but other than that DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES. and if you're a tourism major, well say good bye to all your good grades!
