Hardest grader ever, very in depth knowledge of african and muslim history. nasty in class but very sweet in his office. don't leave bingo w/out taking one of his classes..he's a bit crazy, graying afro, edinboro accent (he'll let u know) but you will never forget him.

I am a person who loves taking on a challenge and always say i can"handle" it. this class is very interesting but Prof Muhummad is one of the hardest grading teachers i have ever met. He s Brilliant but if you can read minds then this is for you.Hes always disappointed with the way we are and thinks that we dont know how to study correctly like him

Think twice- Professor M. is one of the most unprofessional and unhelpful teachers at the university. Could be that he is more interested in what his students "should be" than what they are. He will ask you to participate and then rip apart your comments. Its worth noting he is oddly very friendly and helpful in his office just not in class.

Honestly: RUN AWAY. I'm serious. While it's cool that he's the son of Elijah Muhammad... he's the worst teacher I've ever had. He just sits there the entire class posing hypothetical questions and scolding the class. This man should not be teaching. Honestly, the worst class I have taken at Binghamton. He's often rude and if you don't get the question right he gets annoyed and often indirectly insults you. He is very arrogant, rude and condescending. Don't take this class!!! run away! i wish i had!

Only attempt this class if you are a mind reader. His questions are vague but he gets upset if you don't say what he's thinking. Tests are nearly impossible. Definitely has his favorites in class. His class really isn't that bad, unless you are lazy. You need to actually study the books, and take notes in class. Class participation is very important as well. He is a good teacher and very knowledgeable. He is intimidating at times and is occasionally unhelpful. However if you are a good student, he is helpful and friendly.

I took two classes from this professors in Spring 09 (Islamic Law, and Social History) and I have to admit that, even though his grading is really tough, this semester was a life-changing experience for me. It's highly recommended if you're actually gonna work hard.

Don't listen to everyone here, they are exaggerating. To do well in his class, understand the following:1) Attendance in Mandatory. Missing one class will hurt your grade. The class is impossible, take this class if you want to fail. Half the class failed the highest grade was a 79. He will destroy your gpa and if you do all the reading and memorize the whole book you still will never come close to an A. He's never given an A in his entire life. He is often rude and intimidating. He does have his favorites..if you are not one of them then you will have a hard time getting a good grade. Is knowledgeable, but asks vague questions. This class is only recommended for people who are willing to put in the work. Great information, very helpful if you go to his office hours. Nice guy, terrible teacher. In his office he's friendly and helpful, in class he is intimidating, confusing and often rude. I am sure he knows alot about the subject but it is nearly impossible to get the info out of him. tests are beyond hard. Very difficult to know what he wants from students other than that they fear him.
