Comment:

Dr. Guisse is a good teacher. His accent is tough to understand at first, but after a while you get used to it. I did not like how the homework was online, but that isn't up to him. I would have rather had a textbook and did problems from there. He is very understanding and will help you out if you are doing bad. He wants everyone to pass.

Comment:

Has an accent which makes it more difficult to understand. All he does is solve problems on the board and doesn't give much explanation. Seems like a nice guy, but not great at conveying the information to his students.

Very nice guy. Takes attendance almost every class. He is clear at some points and unclear at other times. Make sure to ask questions if you are confused because if you don't, you're screwed.

Guisse is a good guy and he seems to really enjoy what he does but this class was not enjoyable. From him being late almost everyday to have "pop-homework" online to expecting you to know material you don't, he was not the best teacher. He also has a heavy accent and teaches not for you to understand but for you to know how the problem works.

Everyone gives him a bad rap, but I genuinely enjoyed his class. There's nothing unexpected on test and quizzes, he prepared us for everything. He wants all of his students to succeed

You can NOT understand him. He doesn't teach at all and the class is very hard if you're not good at teaching yourself math. He never answers emails either so very hard to contact him.

Took Guisse for differential equations. Differential equations is a tough class to begin with but guisse does a good job teaching it. He always asks if you understand what he is doing during class. If you're confused and don't see him during his office hours, you're fault. Very helpful one on one. Enjoyed him as a teacher overall

HE was the best! I had him years ago, but he was a great man. huge heart, good teacher would explain if you asked him. yes, he did have a heavy accent, but he was so nice

Dr. Guisse is a nice professor. The material is somewhat difficult but he does a good job of explaining things. The HW and quizzes are online. The test questions come straight from the online review quizzes. One of my major problems with him is that he is unprofessional. He never is at his office for office hours and will NOT respond to emails.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is late to just about every class, and didn't show up for the first day or the final! He doesn't let you know when he's going to be absent either. He says that he'll send out emails with things that we need and he doesn't, and he never responds to emails either. And he only got through 2/5 tests because he was absent so often.

Absolutely do not take unless you have a good, solid foundation and understanding of Calculus. You will definitely need it. His course is difficult and he demands that his class is treated as top priority in your schedule. If there is no other professor teaching the same course, wait and take it with a different professor. You won't regret it.

Absolutely horrible class (pre-calc). Class seems like it should be easy enough but he is difficult to understand, his method of teaching seem like they would be well suited for a higher level course. All homework and quizzes are online and the online program teaches the material better than the professor. All in all I would suggest avoiding him.

He's a very nice person, but it is sometimes difficult to understand how he ended up with a certain answer. He teaches higher level classes, so it is probably difficult to come down to a much lower level. Some people have difficulty understanding him too, although I don't. Overall, his class is easy and shouldn't present too many problems.

He's a really nice guy. the only reason i got an a in his class though is because i took precalc and calculus in high school previously. he has some unusual methods for teaching things and i honestly would've bombed his class if i hadn't taken them in high school. good luck ya'll

Don't take him,can't understand a word he says, even as the semester goes on. He's not helpful with explaining things, because you can't understand him. Though his tests are very easy. Day before the test, he goes over the entire test (a similar one) making sure that everyone can do the problems. If math is not your thing, take a different prof.

Very intelligent guy but a horrible professor. Very unclear when presenting new material. He also came late to almost every class. DO NOT take him for Differential Equations unless it is an absolute must.
