Comment:

Prof. Holzgang is a gem. Shes really passionate at what she does and it makes her class more interesting. Shes funny and if youre confused about anything shell make sure you understand it. Two exams and two quizzes its easy if you study your notes. Homeworks are really easy as well.

I am a sociology major and it is my first time taking her class. She is very straight forward with everything that she expects from you from the beginning of the semester with reading and what she calls in class writing assignments as quizzes. Lectures are very interesting and informative different topics to discuss! Hard to reach though!

Holzgang is a great teacher and full of joy when she teaches. The only downfall of her is she's super slow at grading and giving things back. Her class has 2 exams study guide is given, and a few activities.

She's a great professor! she is passionate about what she teaches and hope that you'd want to change your major to sociology. She gives extra credit which is a huge plus and an easy A/B. The homework is not hard and there is one group project but its pretty easy as well. She makes the classy easy to understand and expect 2 or 3 exams.

Im a first year but l have to say l love Amy! She is so passionate about what she teaches and is hands down the most caring and most understanding professor ever. She is the sweetest thing ever and the class is honestly an easy A is you pay attention to her lectures and do the readings. Also the final is a group project and there are only two test

She is a great, and fun professor. We had coloring assignments and they were really fun. She does take a while to grade things, but that's ok because the final is a group project, you have 2 easy exams, and very little homework.

I highly enjoyed Amy's class! The textbook is online and free. Homework assignments are called adventures, she assigns 6 for the semester, they are easy and enjoyable. There are 2 tests, which can be difficult if one does not stay on top of the readings and lectures. Final is a group project. She takes feedback and makes changes. She is very kind!

Genuine and Passionate about teaching. Provides everything need to pass with an A and also goes beyond to clarify anything. Lecture are informative and fun (sometimes depressing because of content). The assigned readings are extremely interesting and she also has her final as a group project which is also fun.

A teacher who obviously cares about her teaching and cares about if you understood ANYTHING she talked about. Her class is broken down to 2 exams and a final (project-based). Her test is based on the lecture and she even gives out a study guide to prepare for what you need to know including essay portion. Make sure to show/email her what you write.

I loved Ms. Amy, she's an amazing sociology professor and made this class so interesting! you can tell she's very passionate about the subject and she's assessable whenever you need her. her class is easy to pass and lectures are long and she doesn't give out a lot of homework. Would literally take any class professor Holzgang teaches. She has got to be hands down my favorite sociology professor. Her tests are straightforward and are based on notes taken in class. Very nice and very accessible.

So I am not a regular cerritos student, I attend a university during the semester. So I was expecting the worst, but Dr. Holzgang was the complete opposite. She's funny, nice, and really passionate about sociology. She makes every lecture interesting, and I really enjoyed her class. Tests and quizzes are straightforward. Definitely recommend her!
