Even though Andy's gone, I had to respond to the comment that he doesn't like disagreement. I wrote a semester paper on how his area of study was complete bunk, and he gave me an "A+". Maybe it wasn't your opinions that he objected to--maybe your papers weren't that good. I never found him anything but open to a decent argument. One of the best!

i took literary and media history with him. and it was a pretty bad class. no insightful discussions, though the readings were extremely interesting. parker does not like anyone elses opinions in papers. your goal should be to simply regurgitate his opinion in a different form when you write.

Professor Parker needn't "rethink" his shirts. More importantly, however, it would be absolutely tragic were he to rethink his jeans. Parker is the consummate pedagogue, both as theorist and as practitioner, subjecting any text to the most penetrating analysis. Unparalleled in his devotion to his students and his calling, he is, by far, the best!
