Prof Anne is literally the sweetest lady I've met at UW. I would definitely recommend this class if you need an Anth credit. The course is very straightforward took summer A term and enjoyed it! The kitchen activities were very engaging, I wish I took the study abroad program. I will have to say the lecture can be dull at times.

An amazingly nice professor!! Lenient, insightful, and cares about whether her students learn from the class. Typical amount of readings for JSIS or Anth majors and you should get good grades if you cover class materials and do the work. She is very knowledgeable and intelligent in anthropological fields. Also very open-minded. Best professor ever!

Super friendly professor! Very interested in her field and her lectures provided a lot of good information. Sometimes they were a dry as she just went over the reading but overall the course and readings were fairly engaging. Class is only out of 100 points so every point lost on the 3, 5 pg papers matters. Short in class participation assignments

Professor Anagnost is extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, and passionate about what she teaches. Take her class and believe in the value of your college education again. The class was two hours long, but I still wanted to show up to hear what the professor had to say. Seriously, take her Anth311 class if you can and learn a lot.

Ann is a really cool lady. Don't let her sweetness fool you. She is a fearless educator and her class will change the way you see the world. I really liked the structure of the class - 2 essays and some reading/lecture reflections. She's not a hard grader - show her all you've gotten out of the class/readings in your work and you'll succeed

The class was decent overall. It ended up being more like a philosophy class than an anth class, which surprised me. And she's really sweet and knows a lot, I'm sure, but her lectures seemed to drone on and on so I ended up only attending maybe 3/4 of them. If you have the time to read a LOT you might get more out of it than I did though.

She's a very nice professor, but the readings assigned were difficult to understand and the class was filled with confusing terms. Lectures did not help explain the terms well enough either. I thought the class was more on the evolution of food throughout time. I had no idea it was going to be so liberal/political.

She is very helpful and nice, as other people noted. The class can be a bit dull sometimes and a bit abstract at others, but it's very thought provoking. I'd say that it should almost be required for Anth majors.

I'll agree - Professor Anagnost does have a very soothing voice - which is probably the reason I kept falling asleep in class. She definitely knows her stuff, and was pretty helpful when I was in the class.

I took this class as a senior anth major and it wasn't the best idea. While the class was interesting and great for beginner anth majors, it wasn't very challenging. In fact i stopped going to class after the third week. (still scored a 3.8) Anne's voice
