I like the discussion in this class. Mrs. Thames accepts everyone's ideas as equally viable. I believe in absolute truth, but it is convenient to be able to share ideas without it affecting my grade.

I've had Mrs. Thames for all my English classes and she's great! She grades well as far as I'm concerned, and any passage id on literature tests is really obvious. But you actually have to read the material and any handouts she gives (novel idea!) and it would be a good idea to keep the handouts organized because there are a lot of them.

Nice teacher, you'll benefit from her class. The only con is its impossible to get a 'A' on the essay assignments. I've always ended up getting B's even though my essays were near perfect according to her.

Pretty good teacher but grades on the standard but on what you can do. In other words I did great in English and finished with a B and someone in the class turned in cruddy essays and didn't even show up often and made an A, despite breaking the attendance policy. Good for lectures but not good for grading and tends to loose your papers/tests.

Calhoun placed me in this class because of my ACT scores, but she told me I didn't belong there and therefore the class was very easy. Shes really nice though and a great person. Take her shes good!

Her tests are tough and she likes pop quizzes. You can't skate through her class. She expects you to do the readings, pay attention in class and have good attendance. However if you do that take notes and participate in discussions you will do great. She knows her stuff and is a very knowledgeable lady. Highly recomended for serious English majors.
