Expect to read and write a lot, since its creative writing. Sometimes I wondered about her grading techniques. She requires everything typed, yet she handwrites her comments and you CANNOT READ THEM!!! You're required to do a portfolio based on her comments, so kind of pointless. She can be nice at times.

Ms. Edmands is perhaps one of the most caring profeesors at USM. Why she is not full time is beyond me. She will go out of her way to see that the student does well. She is a credit to USM.

I found this class to be one of the worst I have ever taken. Not only did she fail in helping me become a better writer, she insulted my writing style to my face. I think she's arrogant and stuck-up.

She is a very good professor, but requires A LOT of work. She is easy to please as long as you complete all your assignments and come to class. Don't take her class if you want an easy credit, cause you do have to work hard to succeed.

A very good professor overall, but a relatively hard one. She's one of those few that will actually teach you something, even if you don't want to learn it. I feel I really benefited from her instruction and I would recommend her to anyone looking to better themself as a writer.

Ms Edmands is a very clear teacher. The first couple of classes, I was really irritated because she name dropped about 100 authors I had never heard of and continued to use them as examples. I thought she was pretentious until I found out how encouraging she is with her students. Good constructive criticism.

Comment:

One of USM's best professors. Lessons are thought provoking and reading material provides good examples essential to learn. A fan of the Socratic method. Be prepared to defend your point with textual examples. I suggest reading "Trials of Socrates." Register early so that you may have the privilege to be her student.
