I loved her as a teacher. She was so helpful whenever I was needed anything. She was even great once I got out of her class and is always willing to help. If you study your notes carefully and do all the homework problems you will be fine!

She's definitely one of the only professors I can imagine at Mizzou that could make PChem learnable. You really need to attend every lecture to understand the material, and lots of preparation is necessary for the exams, but Deakyne is always offering problem sessions and office hours and genuinely wants her students to pass this difficult course.

PChem is a very hard course but Dr. Deakyne makes it manageable. The material is presented at a decent pace. Constant studying is must. The exams are very difficult except the first one. She is helpful during the problem sessions and if you go to her office. She is interested in student learning and seems to care. Just study hard and go talk to her

Although she loves her coffee and speeds like mad because of it, and her tests are hard, shes a great teacher because she focuses on theory, not just input-output protocols for problems, which you should be able to figure out if you go to lecture (and read). The book problems and old exams are a MUST. Study several weeks in advance for tests, too.

Dr. Deakyne made the best out of a bad situation. PCHEM is a hard class but her lectures were very clear and she is willing to help you outside of class anytime you ask. If you have to take PCHEM take it with Dr. D.

I think everyone should quit complaining. Chem. is a hard class, and Deakyne does a good job of helping if you have the iniative to ask for help. Her tests are fair, they just aren't spit back classes. News flash...you're in college use your brain!

I actually thought she was a pretty good teacher...the class isn't interesting, but I think it's really hard to make Chem interesting. SHe is really helpful if you go talk to her outside of class.

I'd like to reiterate, she doesn't teach, just goes over definitions. She does not prepare her students for her exams at all, also doesn't give enough time for her hard ass exams. Bad teacher, hard tests, try to avoid is possible.

During the last weeks of the semester, people finally started being brave enough to yell insults aloud in the auditorium. That's how bad she was. Most people realized that their 50 minutes was better spent at home sleeping than listening to her.
