Comment:

I had this teacher last semester and took him again because it fit with my schedule. He doesn't communicate with his students very clearly because he talks in a bunch of anecdotes and quotes. The materials needed for his classes are heavy. I would probably take his class again since he knows me and my art style. Not a fine Artist? Beware.

A very nice guy, down to earth. he's a bit tough in his feedback, some people get put off with that, but I loved it. He really helps you to understand the material and how to draw well. As long as you attend class and do all the assignments, you will have an A.

I design video games for a living. Camilo is by far one of the most intelligent and caring teachers I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. He expects the best from you, he will challenge you so you work hard AND he will be critical of your work. Why? Because you are an adult and this is a real profession, if you want easy go to summer camp.

He is a very good professor, you have to do your work, I did not deserve a B in the class and even though just because I shewed progress he gave it to me. He loves art and is deep in to it. his class has a philosophical point of view if you like drawing TAKE HIM. HW is just like 5 drawings in a journal do it and you will pass !

I would highly suggest having a background in art, drawing, painting, ect. It is a design class, which is art problem solving and if you can't do that then there is no need to say that the teacher sucks. I can see how others think he is arrogant, but he is just holding you to a high standard and can see your potential.

Yep, everything you read before is correct. He's intelligent, but doesn't know how to teach. I never painted in my life and he expected me to be a pro. Last project will cost you $100. The projects are useless, you don't learn how to design. He's a tough grader, doesn't explain what needs to be improved. The guy who skipped the classes got an A.

Withdrew. IMPOSSIBLE. Expects you to work on projects at home but still bring them to work on 2x/week for 5hrs. Never says what we need to bring to class. Doesn't communicate ideas about projects - what we're doing/should learn from it. Felt like arts/crafts then design. Might talk to you, might ignore you all together.

Good teacher, learned more than I did at UCF he has a very monotone voice so its hard to tell if his joking around. I never had a problem and i don't regret taking the class. It helps if you have an understanding of shape and perspective.

This Professor much rather talk and philosophize than teach. He's fair but I never learned anything. What I did learn really did not help my drawing skills what so ever. He cares but he just doesn't understand how to explain how to draw without insulting you.

Very expensive class. Critical, "intellectual" teacher who would prefer to quote Sartre than teach you anything. One on one, he is actually not bad. In a class, he picks favorites and is generally unclear and irritating. Would not recommend this professor.

I asked how to improve from my midterm grade, his response "try harder." I ask if it's possible to get an A in his class, his response "Some sinners get in to heaven, but some go straight to hell." WTF? He favors students trained in this form of art, though half the class HAS to be there for graphic design requirements, he's IMPOSSIBLE. DON'T TAKE!

Took him for design 1 and withdrew. He spent the entire time making psychology references and talking about cavemen. First project we had to create objects that had no meaning and place them on a board in areas the eye usually doesnt look for. I'm not sure were DESIGN is actually involved in the class. Stupid waste of time/money.

In the beginning very unclear as to what he wanted. Swings his mood on the fly especially if people show up late. If you aren't ready for an extremely heavy load do not take. On a one on one basis he is freakn' amazing. He has taught me so many new techniques on how to draw. My work has improved in leaps in bounds due to this man.
