The course was on Mexican Cinema. Very comprehensive and she would really try to make as much information available to us outside of the texts. Office hours are highly recommended as this professor is willing to help out individual students and their interests! EXTREMELY knowledgeable in all Latin and Iberian film/media and NOT boring.

Don't be so quick to judge this prof. based on FV 350 expiriences. FV 350 is the most redundant requirement for FV. It's curriculum is mostly fixed and predetermined by the department. This woman is one of the single most brilliant minds the University of Michigan currently employs. Her working knowledge of north, south, and central american, european, and post-colonial era african cinema (history and theory) is enough to put even the most articulate film theorists to shame... And also, a wonderful person.

She is not the best lecturer, she cracks herself up in the middle of lectures. I had her for my discussion leader as well & we wasted time with unimportant things that weren't covered on tests. As for the tests we never knew what was going to be covered. Fortunately the class wasn't hard at all.
