We had two papers and a midterm that she gave us a study guide for, but none of the material from the study guide was on it. Many students failed and she did give an extra credit opportunity, but assignments were often unclear for what we needed to do. She lectures without power points to reference to and the text book was very hard to understand.

She's a really nice woman, and very interested in the material, knowledgeable. I found she stuck to her syllabus almost to perfectly. I have her in other classes and yes she is a tat dis-tractable. I think I would take classes with her in the future. Overall good.

Classes were very disorganized. Prof. Hoyser is no doubt an intelligent women, although you might not get that impression by the way she conducts her classes. Lectures were all over the place and she would often cancel class/not show up or show up late. Once again, she is very knowledgable, but I found her class frustrating.

However, I hear you can either pass or fail the course...I think it's a lottery...she just throws grades in a hat and picks one for you...I should've gotten atleast a C on my final paper...but I came out with an A

Much better Woman's Studies than English professor, she should just stick to teaching feminism this is obviously more her cup of tea. She's still very unorganized and unstructured but lectures and discussion are very passionate and enlightening. Workload is heavy for a 100 level but she's flexible.

This is one of my favorite English courses. It's quite fascinating, and she knows quite a bit about colonialism and its impact on third world countries. Only problem is it's her first time teaching it, and the syllabus vs. class are out of sync.
