Comment:

The worst thing is being bilingual (no Spanish background) and being made fun of. Cheryl is quick to ridicule students, to the point of tears, and constantly picks on students, even when they are CLEARLY frustrated, she won't let up. She does make it a point to converse with each student in Spanish, so there's a plus.

She's truly amazing. I've had trouble with foreign language classes before but this class is different . She will make sure you understand the material . She truly cares about her students and their feedback to improve the quality of her teaching. Don't be afraid to ask her questions. I think questions actually make her happy lol.

Professor Wessel is a great professor who genuinely cares about her students. Always offering up her office hours and continuously giving her help. I am taking her again next semester and couldn't be happier.

Amazing professor, I've learned more from this class than I have in the past years of Spanish. If you don't like how a quiz was formatted or if it was too hard she takes it into consideration. She cares about your grade but cares more about your understanding on the topic. If you don't participate you will not pass.

Cheryl refuses to have students address her by her proper title, which I think is a good first indicator in a teacher. She is engaging in her classes and is very straight forward about what to expect on quizzes and tests. My only complaint would be that she makes the class too easy to accommodate for the less advanced students. Highly recommended.

Okay she is a great teacher and makes SPAN very clear. Her study guides are extremely helpful. She doesn't mean to pick on people that is just her personality and don't read into it because she really does want students to learn and she is very knowledgeable, helpful, but easy also.

Since when is it okay to be rude to students, even if they are know it all's? But, that was not the case in my class. She made fun of people who were really trying. Also, she brought her daughter to class about three times because she was sick and missed the bus. That is very UNPROFESSIONAL- she's a professor, not a preschool teacher.

I took 2 semesters of German last year and picked up her spanish ten times faster. Cheryl is laid back, very easy to follow, doesn't force you to answer every oral spanish question she gives you and gives great study guides. The only students she's rude to are the know-it-alls. If you have to take span 1110, you won't go wrong with this woman.

She makes fun of people's mistakes and really makes students feel dumb. She makes fun of her students on a regular basis and makes them seem stupid for making mistakes. She's a pretty laid back teacher and easy but I don't care for her personality.
