Comment:

Late start online course on intro to advance level Microsoft office 2016/365. Her involvement in the course is non existent. No due dates, just have all work submitted by the end of the course despite what her, obviously copied, syllabus states. Easy A if you have the self discipline. Work is automatically graded immediately w/ multiple attempts.

I would advise not to take her class. She doesn't help with any questions you have, she is really soft spoken but doesn't lecture anything off the power points which is very hard to stay focused. You can't really get help from anyone in class because she considers that "cheating" If you can choose another professor.

I would not recommend to anyone to take this class with her, ESPECIALLY if you are new to the computer world. This is supposed to be an intro class and she acts like we are all professionals on the material even though she doesn't teach anything. She simply reads directly off power point slides. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR!!

The professor does not teach the course. By which I mean any information on the course will come from your textbook not the teacher. Do not bring up any time you are confused if you take this class, she will not help beyond the most basic platitudes. The lectures are long-winded and uninformative.

Her online class is pretty easy and self-explanatory, but most of her work is full of mistakes and when you need elaboration she doesn't even make an effort to read or help. I emailed her to ask if we had to take an exam on chapter 4 or 9 because her notes said ch 9 and the exam sheet said ch 4 and she told me to go to the ICT learning center...

Very nice woman, however she should not be teaching this class in my honest opinion. She doesn't really teach, but rather tells you information through slideshows. You must write code on the tests, which is pretty hard for most. Overall, I disliked going to class on a regular basis, would not recommend.

Comment:

Forde teaches the class assuming everyone plans on becoming a programmer. This makes the class excessively tedious for anyone not planning on going into computer science. That being said, her tests are fairly straightforward and she will go over what will be on the test. Her labs are time consuming and mostly pointless. All around painful class.

Comment:

Forde "tells" information rather than "teaches" her discipline. She recites her PowerPoints and provides little help or insight on the course's topics. Her assignments for a 101 class emphasize paperwork rather than learning the thought process and skills required to be an effective computer scientist. Not difficult, but ineffective and unhelpful.

She is by far one of the worst professors that I've ever had at a college or ever will have in my lifetime. The level of competence that she shows is pretty much non-existant. She'll go on about irrelevant stuff that has nothing to do with the course and than hands you work without actually explaining it, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

DO NOT take CSC101 with her! She is officially the worst professor ever. I did not learn anything about JAVA in her class and now it comes back to haunt me. She makes class extremely boring and repeat herself way too many times. The class shrinked from 24 people to 8 by two weeks!! Don't make the same mistake i did and choose another professor.

She's nice, but confusing. Cons: The labs all pretty much have stuff you don't learn till later on if at all. The wording on exams can be confusing and the book is of almost no help on labs. Pros: She helps in the after hours and gives out extra credit, study guides for exams. Quick check and Array HW, have questions that are exams questions.

If you do not know about computers then you will not learn anything in her class. She doesnt know much of anything herself. Reads off of a powerpoint that is direct text from the book. Does not know how to admitt that she is wrong in any situation.

Nice enough lady, but should NOT be a teacher! Disorganized and unhelpful, teaches from slides that are just restating the textbook's contents. Goes on tangents regularly. Explains material poorly when she explains it at all instead of just handing you the code. Insists we use UML diagrams, but hasn't really taught us how to make them!

She may have been better suited for Kodak, although that company did fail. She's pretty awful at teaching, although this class shouldn't be an intro course. She's following department curriculum, and it's far too hard for somebody who isn't familiar with Java.

Absolutely useless teacher especially if you don't know Java Programming. Only uses powerpoint and has no logical order of lessons. Jumps to advanced lessons in Java without explaining the basics. AVOID!

Had I known that this was a do it yourself class, I would have probably signed up for home schooling. This professor does not teach nor does she answer anything I ask her. She probably is a nice person, but I wouldn't really know since all we do is sit and learn on our own from the book.

Horrible professor. Doesn't explain anything, or help those with no prior knowledge of the subject. All she uses to teach are powerpoint slides taken directly from the book. A snore-fest. I never look forward to her classes.

Teaches mainly using power points and does not realize most students are computer literate. It was mandatory for me to take this class even though I already knew all of the information. She teaches very elementary style.
