Prof. Francese taught golden age Latin poetry and a rigorous Vergil seminar at Swarthmore. His classes were so stimulating and challenging. He is an incredibly kind and thoughtful person and a patient teacher. You will be lucky to learn from him!

He truly loves his subject matter and makes it come to life. He has incredible patience and is always available for help. He runs a top notch classics deparment at Dickinson. If you are someone looking to study the classics, then you need to come to Dickinson College. Dr. Francese has been a wonderful mentor. His department is awesome.

The class was pretty monotonous .. same homework, same quizzes, just going through the book chapter by chapter the same way. He was also sometimes a little too ****ed for me with his jokes ... but overall a nice guy. He was very helpful when I went to his office for extra help .. He also has the cutest kids ever!

Wonderful professor. Also, his wife is one the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, which never hurts either! The two of them are absolutely lovely, welcoming, intelligent people.

Really good guy and good teacher. Some people I know didn't like him because he doesn't put up with slackers. As long as you do your work, you're fine. I might be biased since I was downright Doogie Howser silly in Latin. Mastrangelo is also great.
