I took this course on a whim, and I am so happy I did! The class discussions are driven by where the students want to go, not always by what he likes most. He is also very passionate and extremely intelligent. He wants you to engage and participate in class, and on exams he want to see you think not regurgitate. I loved this class.

Not sure where this great professor was when I took this class. He had two encounters with students when they came in and asked about their grades. Both of them ended with him yelling at the student and acting very unprofessionally. The class is also a snooze fest, I'm pretty sure Shakespeare is rolling over in his grave...

Very passionate about literature. If you participate and do the assignments, you are guaranteed to succeed. Again, participation is very important. I highly recommend Prof. Lein. He is a great teacher and his classes are fun and interesting.

Dr. Lein is an excellent teacher. He cares about students and expects the best, and more. The assignments are clear and helpful for the overall learning for the class. We watch films and went to Chicago for Hamlet on stage.
