Wow. I googled Professor Freeman's name because I was going to look up the classic textbook he uses and was shocked by his rating. I was actually waxing poetic, as I am wont to do, about how he is one of the best professors I have ever had. I am defending my PhD in BME in a few weeks and still use the statistical methods he taught me. G

Smart guy and super passionate about botany. Doesn't teach from book at all, but it's useful for definitions, etc. Really willing to sit down and talk through concepts with you. Lab is the hardest part of the class by far (never skip lab). Most people don't like his portion of class because plants are generally boring, but he's a good lecturer.

Dr. Freeman is a great lecturer. He just keeps a bullet list of what he wants to talk about and just goes from there. You have to make sure you write down every word he says though because it will all be on the test. Make sure to go over the notes regularly and do NOT skip class.

He is obsessed with plants almost in a childish way, but he teaches well and has some interesting stories. The test difficulty was not appropriate for an introductory course though. You have to know the material pretty well to ensure an A.

Really hard proff. Don't ever touch the book. Tests are directly from lecture. His tests are real tricky too. Study lecture notes hardcore. Win.

I cannot BELIEVE he is still there! Verrry pedantic! Needs to classify everything 9) monocot diocot fruit and seed types. My mother and grandmother knew more practical stuff about plants from their Gardens! The sole purpose of these guys (1979) was to eliminate premeds "the enemy surrounds us" he said. . I would have done better if I socialized.

This guy sucks. He is really scattered in lecture and his tests are nearly impossible, you must know every little detail to do well. He isn't helpful to students at all.

Somewhat disorganized and unclear. Makes horrible tests that are very ambiguous and have very poor grammar. Makes mostly clear whats expected to be known on tests.

He is hard. Some students knew a lot more than others which put others behind. He didn't care about that.He wants you to self-study on all statistics concepts and apply everything on the test (like make up your own problems on the test). His lectures weren't helpful. He's disorganized and hard to follow.

Hes a very good proff but one of the laziest. u have to literally write down everythin he says. I suggest typing on ur laptop more convenient n faster and u can add points in between. hes haphazard and tests u on stuff he never covered in class but hes overall really good. keep readin the textbook as much as possible

Dr. Freeman is the best!! He is a wonderful professor and he knows how to teach. He has an obsession with plants and it's quite funny. His tests aren't bad unless you procrastinate. You HAVE to go to lecture or else you won't be happy with your test results.

Dr. Freeman is an excellent teacher. I don't know what you other people are complaining about he explains everything well and he tells you what to study for the test. Btw, don't procrastinate! HINT: If he says to look over something for the test, then LOOK over it because he will have questions on it. Overall, it was a good class and I enjoyed it.

He's knows a ton about the material and has some interesting stories that make lectures more interesting. However, his lectures are completely disorganized and all other the map. Makes studying very hard. Doesn't give any powerpoints or anything. Just goes off the top of his head.

people like the previous two comments deserve a meaty danza slap to the ear. freeman claims he gives hints but if he does its prob only 1 question out of 50. he gives billions of pages of notes and you have no clue on what to study because of that. questions on the exam were very specific and detailed...he has a sense of humor, thats about it tho.
