If math already comes hard to you, don't take this class with this teacher. HE ONLY GIVES 4 tests and averages homework for grades. Each test has 16 questions which makes it ten times easier to fail. I tried all the homework online and It was just not easy. Don't recommend him unless you're great at math...

Mr. Sims was a great teacher. He explained everything very well and gave practice tests before the actual tests. If you do the practice tests a couple times before the test you will do good. Kinda a lot of homework... 4 unit tests and a final. each unit test is 15%, final is 30% and hw is 10%. I got an A

Mr. Sims is very nice and willing to help, but what he teaches is completely opposite of what is on his tests. I have never been confident in math, and he has done nothing but exacerbated the situation. If you're slow to retain math info, take another class.

I took the class online and am going to be very straight forward unless you have a complete understanding of the work you will not pass and it is hard to teach it to yourself although he does offer help and the quizzes and study list are all easy but the test have to be taken in the testing center and they are harder then the quizzes and study list

Great professor. he describes everything in a clear way so you can understand it and is willing to take questions if you dont. The only drawback is the only grades you get are tests. So if you struggle with math dont expect homework or attendance grades to carry you through. But if you do the assignments pay attention in class youll do fine

If u are looking for a teacher 2 have fun with and make class interestin,Dan Sims is not the one for u.However if u would like 2 go into class get the information that you need to pass the class and go then he is for you.States everything in a clear manner and takes questions before,durring,and after class.I would take him again jus not @8am.

This guy was the business. Everybody has bad comments about him, but I understood him very well. I thought he took time for questions and emphasized on things. He even gave us study guides for the tests. Homework wasn't graded, but if you did the homework you would do well on the tests.

HATE IT! If you aren't a prodigy in math, dont waste ur time. He goes too fast, leaves details out, hardly any help. effin ridiculous. I wasted 400$ for this class and now have to retake it. his tests are so hard and they are types of problems we didnt emphasize on when we were taught a particular CONCEPT!! so how the heck do u pass a test? U DONT!

absolutely ridiculous. this is my hardest class. He shows no sympathy for failing his tests on material he can't HALF TEACH! i totally agree with someone else who said he teaches the concepts with easy problems then uses ridiculously HARD problems ON THE TEST! No homework grade nothing. i hate that he is keepin me from my CSC classes!

to me it made it harder to learn he went straight from the book and the only grades you have are TESTS....no quizes no homework grasde just tests. I didnt understand him at all and he doesnt help you very much...me and my boyfreind were in the same class and he barely passed he also thought he was hard to understand the way he teaches.

Took it over the net - had a homework quiz after every chapter - tests were exactly the same type of problems as the homework - it's a normal class...if you actually try and do all the homework, you end up with an A or B

Mr. Sims is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. I have never understood math. The way he explains and teaches makes learning easier. I would definitely take his class again and I recommend him to everyone. He provides plenty of time for asking questions and makes sure everyone's questions are addressed. HE'S WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS PROFESSOR HAD A VERY NASTY AND SMART ATTITUDE TOWARDS MYSELF AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF OTHER STUDENTS IN HIS CLASS. IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIACNE THAT HE LIKE TO TALK DOWN TO PEOPLE AS THOUGH THEY ARE CHILDREN. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM AT ALL!!!

Class was impossible. He would teach the easy problems in class to get your confidence up and then throw problems that were just completely over your head on the tests. I dropped the class after the 2nd exam with an average of a 50. Tough break.

I had this instructor for Pre-calculus II and he was IMPOSSIBLE. This class was the only class I failed at TNCC. I don't understand math, but he made it even more confusing. If you want a good math instructor take MRS. RADER. Shes AWESOME. She can really break it down for you.
