Comment:

He is not an easy teacher at all. If you want an 'A' you really have to put some heavy time in it. I put A LOT of hours into this class and did well. Pay attention and understand his notes line by line. ASK QUESTIONS if you don't understand something. He will make you a better problem solver and challenge your understanding of the material.

Comment:

One of the worst professors that I have ever come across. I took a scholars class from him and he treated me worse than others because I didn't agree with him on religion & evolution. Other students even noticed how he treated me. WOULDN'T recommend "No-Hope Cope" for any class because it's obvious he's not concerned whether students pass or fail.

If you decide to take this class, do NOT buy the book. You print off his book full of typos and get to be confused by rushed lectures because hes constantly late, and lastly, he is bad at explaining everything and never makes you feel welcome if you need help. I do not recommend this prof. for any reason. He is really smart, just not a good teacher

To succeed in his class you're going to have keep up with your assignments. He gives a pretty large load of homework, but it's all relevant and the exams consist of very similar problems. I thought he made the class fun to attend.

Dr Cope is a mild-mannered hottie with a sense of humor only appreciated by those students who pay attention to what he says. Not the easiest professor out there, but fair and realistic.

Long ago, I took a math modeling class from Dr. Cope. A tough class, but I made it tougher than it should've been, and Dr. Cope probably thinks that I'm an idiot for it. Regardless, I did enjoy the class.

I took some sort of scholors evolution vs. creationism class. Class discussion was NOT conducted in a fair manner and he always made me feel like an idiot compared to him when discussing philosophy.

I worked my butt off for him: 10-15 hr/wk on HW and 20-30 hours on his take home finals. However, I learned more than I did in some similar graduate classes. If you want to learn, take him; if you want to coast, he is not for you.
