WORST CLASS! so boring, no clear objectives. rambles for hours about current events but does not tie it into an actual lesson. very unorganized and chaotic. great guy tbh very passionate about what he does but teaching is definitely not his calling. do. not. take. this course.

Don is one of my favorite professors. In a three-hour lecture course, you might find yourself bored, or get treated to one of his rambling stories--but hey. Welcome to the journalism department. Every professor is going to talk themselves up to you. If you do your work and pay attention, you'll be fine.

I don't know why he has such a high rating, this guy was the worst professor I've ever had. He talks about random things is very boring. It's a 3 hour class, but I just signed in and left every class and ended with an A. Final is exactly the study guide. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't even grade the final paper, because mine was utter nonsense.

honestly, this guy is so cool. I had a hard time sitting through his 3 hour lectures (of which never lasted much more than 1 1/2or 2) becaus it was monday, late, and you have to listen to him when he talks. later i realized how brilliant he was, i wish i spent more time in class. I have so much respect for him and he's more than happy to help

Awesome lecturer. He knows a lot of things!! He is passionate about his subject. Participate, and disagree with him to make the class a bit more interesting. Go to his office hours for help about the paper. The homework isn't helpful and the online quizzes useless, but good class overall, i've learned many interesting things.

Not hot, not fun! Hes an older man who enjoys talking about himself way to much. All we talked about was wars and random crap, and then would hand us a study guide of questions filled with his rambles. A mideterm&final tests on his rambles, a 10 page paper, and 30 quizzes online which is the only reason you use the book.

Hands down my favorite course I've taken in my years here. He goes on tangents but he's so riddled with information that it's always interesting to listen to. He's always willing to re-explain and go over things if someone doesn't understand. Take notes and stay updated on current events. And DO NOT be shy to contribute in class. Highly recommended

Don Menn is a sweet and caring guy who loves to ramble about life during his lectures. His lectures are not particularly easy to follow and tend to be boring... Attendance is mandatory, as it is 20% of your overall grade. Other than that, it's a pretty straightforward class. 2 response papers, 1 quiz, 1 final exam, and a 10 page paper.

Proff Menn's class was pretty easy. We hardly ever talked about what was on the syllabus but we did talk about current events. He gives you the midterm and final study guid and answers prior to the tests. Attendance is important but I used the class time to do the quizzes for the class or homework for another class. Recommend for easy A.

I'm a journalism major, and was disappointed to find my first actual journalism course to be so grating. Menn rambles through every class talking about himself or about no topic in particular, making lectures impossible to follow. The class is merely comprised of short online quizzes, a 10 page paper about whatever you want, and a final. Easy A.

Not a good professor. Talks about random things and does not touch on the subject matter until the week before finals. Expects students to know everything that is going on in class while he blabbers on about unimportant things. The final study guide was impossible to follow and the test consisted of many questions he had not touched on.

SUPER EASY!! You want an easy A? take this class. You have until the end of the semester to complete the online quizzes. He takes the highest grade you get. You have a final but he gives you the questions beforehand. a 10-page paper on whatever topic you wanted. i was lucky enough not to have a midterm.

This is a GE class, so it won't be that interesting. He would be an impressive teacher if you took his upper level classes. This was super easy to pass, and you don't need to go. TAKE IT!

As a journalism major I was excited for this class however he taught me nothing. We learned bits of journalism history but mostly he talked about his life He never responds to emails! Attend every class he assigns short papers 16 open book chapter quizzes online The final was verbatim the study guide I finished in 10 mins The last paper is 10 pages

Go to class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he'll assign papers in class, and he's terribly slow at updating iLearn. He can be boring and pretentious and sometimes presents bogus/dumb/way-too-subjective info as fact, but he's actually a nice guy and class isn't stressful. If you need 3 units, not a bad option.

He's a nice guy, but I didn't learn anything. He goes off talking about random stories of his life. Although class isn't mandatory, you should go in case he assigns things. He will randomly assign short essays, online quizzes, 10pg. essay, and a final test which was so easy I finished in 10 mins because he gives you the questions beforehand.

Very incomprehensible and irritating professor. I have no idea what he talks about, and is very unspecific. No midterm, grade based on 16 quizzes and a 10-page paper with a very broad topic. It's a good course, but he's not a very good teacher.

The class is very unclear! He has good intentions, but is very off topic and just... talks. The assignments are straightforward, but if you have any interest in learning DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Easy A? Yes.
