Duane was one of most inspirational individuals I had the pleasure of working with at Ohio University. His knowledge goes beyond the classroom and his subjects of expertise. His lectures express the relevance and presence of art in every day interactions and how it can be applied or found in any situation, banal or otherwise.

Duane is very eclectic, but this was a great class. He can be vague and sometimes an ass, but he will push you to what he knows you can accomplish. I achieved an immense amount of growth from this class.

you call him by Duane. He talks so effing long you wont believe it until you are in his class. He Is not clear on assignments whatsoever. The good about him is he does care, and his assignments can be pretty interesting he is just not a "this is what you do, and this is how you do it" kind of guy. Be ready for a lot of art projects... Tough grader!

Duane is impressively attentive to students as individuals. He expects a lot and he's not incredibly organized (due dates can be up in the air). He appreciates hard work and is ready to spend time with students individually if they need it. He talks a lot, but it's almost always interesting and helpful (I would even go as far as to say inspiring).

This class was by far the easiest class i've ever taken. I LITERALLY slept through it every day and still got an A. His tests aren't always easy but he offers a TON of extra credit.
