Yes I learned about Greek and Roman mythology. Yes I found the myths interesting. However, we covered a lot of material that didn't have any connection to mythology. Lowry goes on rants sometimes about things that really don't connect to the readings. We spent a whole chapter discussing Indo-European language. He is a great person though.

Lowry is something else. Usually showed up late to class, didn't get to two of the required readings we had to buy/rent. There were supposed to be quizzes every week but that didn't happen, so we weren't graded on many things. This was the most boring class I've ever taken, but it was really easy. Put forth small amount of effort to get an A.

Lowry may end up forgetting what he assigned as homework and assign it again and again, and he might go on tangents that make no sense. But he is still an awesome professor with so much great knowledge and a true passion for teaching. His lectures were seldom relevant to the course but somehow the tests were always still quite manageable.

So, to start out, Professor Lowry loves to ramble. On and on and on. However! These rambles are almost always interesting, and though I could never tell whether they were actually relevant to the material we were supposed to be learning, I always did fine on the tests anyway. Very laid back and friendly, a lovely personality, and a well-paced class

Eddie is one of those professors that makes Ripon great. He kept class going for the 4 of us that signed up, and we took a memorable field trip to Madison together. He's one of the smartest men I know, and has a really cute accent to boot.
