She has since moved on to a small liberal arts college in VA where I attend. She has continued her vague lectures as well as her hateful attitude to all who approach her.....She has taken a subject I used to get excited about and ruined it for me. I will never take another class from her.

Don't bother visiting her in office hours, unless you want to feel miserable the rest of the day. Not only was she not helpful (she made me feel like an idiot for not already knowing the answer to the question I'd came to ask her), but she was incredibly rude and acted as though I'd been a waste of her precious time. She shouldn't be teaching..

WORST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN...she is unfair and completely arbitrary in her grading, class and readings are boring, and she is condescending. This is one of those teachers that are "out to get you" as opposed to helping you out...stay away!

The readings are interesting, but there's too much of them and a lot of busy work. She is knowledgeable but not the warmest of people or the best at engaging all people in class discussions. I still found the class interesting; don't take if you are looking for a traditional-style history class.

Not only is this professor the worst I have ever had or heard of, this class is also one of the biggest wastes of time I have ever experienced. Don't bother taking it if you aren't from the South (she won't like you) or if you have any intelligence whatsoever.

This is a new class...its purpose is to clarify exactly what AMST is, through exploration of the variety of AMST scholarship/literature... very informative and thought-provoking class but READING INTENSIVE! Boyd is muuuuch better in small class settings than in large ones like AMST 100.

Very boring teacher who doesn't teach anything. I'm not sure what she is trying to teach. The class is easy, but you will not learn anything. She is not understanding or approchable. She was not in office hours twice during the time stated on her syllabus. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
