Take this class, coming from a slacker... Its very boring but she is a nice lady. The class is so easy its just iclicker questions (answer is always true), a midterm & final that you can cram just by reviewing her ppts cuz the tests questions are word for word, and one paper which isnt hard at all.

Dr. Peters truly cares about her students, but her lectures are boring. You basically can tune out as long as you answer the clicker questions at the beginning of class (the answer is true 99% of the time) Read the gold and colored text in the power points to study for the midterm and final Minimal effort required on the paper. No Textbook Required

This class is definitely an easy A. Participation is huge in this class. You have to show up to answer easy T/F i-clicker questions and 99.8% of the time they are true. You do not need the book. She posts powerpoint slides every day after class. The exams are WORD for WORD from the powerpoints. Study the powerpoints, show up, and you will pass.

Childhood around the world has nothing to do with childhood. More of a childhood development course. Professor Peters is very knowledgeable about her subject. Class can get very boring though, and iclickers make attendance mandatory. Sitting towards the front is essential to stay awake. eHRAF reports aren't very difficult and the class is okay.

Ms. Peters' lectures were very slow and not interesting. The class is not that hard but the lectures are unbearable. It's an easy A if you actually put a solid amount of effort, but waking up in the morning for that awful class was not fun.

Nice lady, you can tell she cares about her students, but very, very boring lectures. Tests are easy because she posts all her powerpoints online. She does iClicker attendance every day for credit so you have to show up. Never opened the textbook.

Easy class, but boring professor. Made sitting through the class difficult. Exams are super easy as long as you review the PowerPoints the week of. Fill in the blank with a word bank. She also gives you half credit if you answer a question wrong if you explain why you thought it was that. Every True or False question is TRUE (for the most part).

When Professor Peters wasn't complaining about class attendance or not being able to figure out canvas, she spent the lecture time talking about monkeys or showing movies that had nothing to do with childhood. She makes you write one paper and there are 2 exams. It's difficult to study for these exams, because you learn nothing in this class.

You don't have to pay for a textbook so that's a plus. But participation makes up 20% of your grade, so definitely can't skip class. Her lectures are really long and boring, and for the most part pointless. We watch movies for at least half of the classes, and I haven't learned anything valuable. Easy A if you show up though.

VERY boring, I got lost in most of her lectures. She has a very monotone voice but she is very passionate about anthropology. She is a biologist anthropologist so expect biology to be on the test. Definitely need to study for this class, her test are not the easiest but I finished the semester with an A-. Just have to study a lot.

Dr. Elizabeth Peters is an extremely intelligent woman who is notably passionate and remarkably knowledgeable about what she does and the information she teaches. She is by far the sweetest professor I have ever had, and she really cares about her students and how well they learn the material. I highly recommend giving this professor a shot!

Only one paper and two tests, but attendance is 20% of your grade, so go to class. Extremely easy class to pass, but extremely boring. PowerPoints make 0 sense, and readings are all scholarly articles that nobody actually reads. Just review PowerPoints before tests and write a decent paper and it's an easy A.

Lectures aren't interesting but you need to show up to get the attendance credit. Graded by only attendance, one research paper, and two tests: the midterm and the final. She also does not give out a study guide, but also does not specify what exactly is going to be on these tests, you have to figure that out on your own.

She was lecture heavy and tended to drone on. I took Childhood Around the World, but it felt more like a child development course. Assigned occasional articles to read, and each class included one or two questions answered on an iClicker for participation. It wasn't too engaging, however, the videos/movie shown were interesting.

I was so excited to sign up for this class and learn about children growing up in different cultures but it turned into more of evolution class. Dr. Peters talks way too much about primates and because she created the class, there is nothing anyone can really do to change that. Definitely not what I had hoped it would be.
