Comment:

I thought this class was very easy, especially for an honors class. I wanted a lot more critique on papers and oral presentations. She let a lot of poor presentations slide by. Her instructions for assignments were very specific, but I thought they were too specific -she told us exactly what to do! In class discussions were thought-provoking.

This was a pretty interesting class. But Liz grades very hard. I always got B's and C's on my papers, which was unusual considering I got straight A's in high school. She makes the class fun, but the grading is her weak point. Doesn't grade fairly. The material wasn't hard, but I didn't get an A in this class because of the grading on her part.

I took her summer class. very much whittled down material, made it great.assignments she lines out exactly what she wants,gives plenty of time for assignments even in a class only half as long as a full semester course.she's very upbeat and dresses like she's half her age. which i would estimate would be 65 or so. good teacher for a required class.

Liz is an absolutely great professor!! It was a bit of a struggle for me to jump into her class, which was an honors english class. I was used to getting all A's so the A- I got was a shock, but I realized I didn't write that well, and I didn't read everything. She was so willing to help when I asked her for it. She's nice and I recommend her class

Comment:

I met her while I was still in H.S., and she is a zany and very nice person. However, her class still brings nightmares. The books were a series of infidelities, rapes, and murders without one positive male figure or iota of healing love. It came off as Radical Feminism 101; severely depressing, and about made me hate myself. Avoid it if you can.

Perhaps the best professor ever. Her philosophies on life, as well as writing, are inspirational. For those who complain about her grading methods because they didn't get As anymore when they were used to it in high school, sorry. Your writing probably wasn't good enough even though your high school teachers spoiled you into thinking so.

This lady is "out there." She likes talking about uncomfortable subjects and wears an obsessive amount of jewelry. Her grading scale doesn't exist. I think she just grades papers by how she is feeling at the time. Good luck in the class. Although, I must say that there were some fun days when we did projects and stuff. So, she's not all bad.

She might be challenging in non-honors english but i find her to be easy if you are in honors and can really put a good thought into a paper. The workload is very reasonable... just read some books and write short papers every couple of weeks and the group project is easy. The discussions are often and sometimes boring, but it goes fast.

She is impossible to please; little is ever good enough for the elusive A. She acts helpful, but picks your papers apart like a crow on a carcass then spits out a crappy grade. I got a B-- on my last paper; that's right, minus minus. I work my butt off, and yet I have learned nothing from her.

When I had Liz, she was teaching this course that was all about the Holocaust. All Holocaust, all the time. It was insanely depressing. So, the course sucked, but she has a lot of passion for teaching and she is a good judge of what makes a good paper and what doesn't.
