Not a hard class, you really do have to teach yourself C if you don't know any. Tests are directly off lecture slides. Helpfulness I put medium because I noticed if you are a cute girl he'll be the most helpful professor ever, if you are a guy, he won't help you whatsoever, I experienced the latter.

Overall, good professor. A few bad things: Out of 36 students in his Winter 04 class, only 3 recieved an A! Also, I don't know if this is Mortensen's fault or the TA's, but the assignment grading is very unfair.

This guy responded to less than 10% of my emails asking about the homework. Very unhelpful. He explains the material decently. Difficult tests, even though you get one page of notes for midterms, and 3 pages for the final

The very best Data Structures teacher at OSU. This guy gives you every opportunity to succeed in his class. There are some hard parts of the class, but he'll work with you on everything! Just a great guy and a great instructor!
