This is an extremely easy class. Show up to earn points but no need to pay attention in class. There are 2 to 3 assignments due each week online, there all extremely easy and graded very easily. Buy the workbook not the textbook. All the tests are online and are open note and he cancels class the day the test is due.

Comment:

Dr. Wilson is an awesome teacher. I took his Introductory Sociology class online so I did not meet him in the classroom, but whenever I had questions he was very accessible and quick to respond to emails. The class consisted of a lot of assignments, but the points in the grade book made for a good cushion on tests. He also offered extra credit!

Super easy class if you keep up with the weekly assignments. These consist of a reading and a learning opportunity out of the book. Readings can be lengthy, but still super easy. Tests are all online, the book is needed for these. Cancels class every exam day.

Nice guy, lectures turned into rambles and class discussions quite often but he let us use the book on every single exam. Keep up with your weekly assignments and go to class and youll be fine (he cancels a lot anyway!). Definitely need the book because its your ticket to an A on exams.

Easy easy A! You have to put in the work but it's not hard and there are many many points available. Attendance ends up being 100 points. 1 extra credit opportunity and a chance to make up a little bit of work towards the end of the class. Easy grader! Nobody should end with a B.

Dr. Wilson gives tons of extra credit, if you don't make an A in this class that's entirely on you. He also posts all assignments online before the semester starts-you could do it all in a day or two and be done, except for the tests (which are online/open book). Take it online, it's the same exact amount of work with no required attendance

He doesn't read the essays you turn in (3 a week) but just looks for citations so include one of those and you're solid. All tests are online so you can use your book. Super easy class; only way to fail is to just not turn anything in ever.

Homework was easy for the most part just lots of it. His lectures are boring and he wastes so much time that we get so far behind in class. Then he doesn't make an effort to get us caught up. I go to class everyday and take notes but still get a below average grade on exams. I dread going to his class everyday.

Dr. Wilson assigns a lot of work but it is all really easy. You can get enough points early during the semester and not have to do much at the end. The major downside is that Dr. Wilson pushes his personal views on students and warns female students that he will look down their shirts if they dress provocatively.

Easiest introduction to sociology class EVER. All tests are online and directly from the power points. Open friend, open notes. There are 2-3 assignments weekly but are extremely simple. He grades very easily. The best part is that he provides so many extra credit opportunities that you don't even have to take the final if you complete them all

Gary is a very interesting man and his lectures are cool to listen to. Easy going guy, gives notes in class. However, my ONLY complaint was that the notes didn't help me AT ALL on the test. The test is based off the book so I strongly urge you to buy the book! Overall a GREAT teacher! Take Sociology from him!

Easiest class I've taken yet. Show up to class and do a few assignments and you will end up with 100% easily. Boring lectures but tests are open book and note and internet so it doesnt matter if you pay attention or not. Highly recommend

Very easy class. Homework is composed of short summaries of short articles and some questions from the textbook, and assignments can be submitted well before the due dates. Not every assignment has to be done. Tests are all online and no class on test days. Interesting after getting past the introductory material. Definitely recommended.

Comment:

Wilson is the reason I'm a sociology major. I would describe him as the Clark Kent counterpart to Superman - mild mannered and inoffensive, but with some really important things to say and great ideas. He's totally my favorite professor at Pitt. If you're going to take sociology, take it from him. He's not very hard, and he'll make you interested.
