He is a very kind older man. He is more than willing to help you in any way to understand the material. Attendance is not mandatory but it definitely helps. He gives practice exams out and is just all around there to help you out. I definitely recommend him!

I hate chemistry and got a D the first time I took this class but retook it and put more effort into it and did much better because of Dr.Evans help he is a nicest and best chemistry that you could ever ask for. He is retiring next semester though. I got a B in his class

Good Teacher. Best one you can get for Chem 1160. Hard class but he is helpful, and he works a lot of problems in class so things make sense. A lot of HW, both online and in the book. DO the homework it will help you a lot. Also check your written homework with others because he doesn't always grade consistently.

Dr. E. is THE MAN!!! Chemistry is difficult, but he helps break it down for you. If you don't understand something - ASK him! Study the coursepack, do the assigned work, you will do fine. People give him bad reviews b/c he expects them to show up & put forth effort - DUH??!! What professor doesn't want that? You get out what you put in!

Best Chemistry teacher ever! If you talk to him once he will remember you forever. Unless you dont ever come to clas. He does whatever he can to help you succeed. Chemistry is not an easy subject, but Evans makes it to where it is bearable. Take him, go to class, then you will understand chemistry!!!

WORST PORFESSOR EVER! Don't ever take! He is a stuck up *****, he kicked us all out of lab because none of us had the procedure written down in the notebook! He said we can't do the lab b/c it's not in the notebook, the damn procedure is in the lab book, we could just have used that this one time!

I always felt lost and behind in this class, no matter how many study sessions I went to or homework I did. You really need to go to class to pass, and even that's not a guarantee. Lots of work and lots of material. But not a terrible class. Just really dull.

Hated this man, and his class. Expects you to devote way too much time to only his class, and when asked for help.. he tells you to do the assigned work. Very unorganized this semester. Calls you by name if you go and speak to him, and seems to take preference over those people. Word of advice; go see him, and sit in the front.

before having dr. evans i absolutely sucked at chemistry but now that i've had him, i've got an A in the class. he's very helpful. he has study sessions 3 times a week, and is always ready to talk you through a problem. i actually like going to chemistry with him as my professor :)

Nice old man. Can teach and explain pretty well, but I am horrible in chemistry and failed. I would still recommend him though. No attendance policy, but it helps to go to class. Quiz nearly every Friday that is not MC, and 1 WebAssign per chapter, and 4 MC tests.

Very bad teacher, at least inlab. Like other's have said, he would ignore you if he didn't like you or if you did something worng. He's very stirct on grades sometimes(or somepeople) but really easy other wise.

He has a coursepack which has examples. Webassign like all classes however if you buy the chem solution manual for the book some of the exact same questions are used. Test are not that hard. He is one of the better teachers. Chem to me is hard no matter who u have. If u have a chance take him he is a lot easier to understand and he actually cares.

Very frusturating. He's only nice to students who he likes(ie smart people) or if you talk about his daughter. He's very unpredictable. He's really picky only when he's in a bad mood.
