Gord is the best prof at the School. I have grown so much because of him. He helps you to develop your ideas further so that they aren't simply a one-liner, literal piece of crap. He really cares about what you think and enjoys it when you discover and believe in your own strengths. He is an amazing person.

Don't be scared off by gord's rep. He will not candy coat anything for you but he is an excellent prof so long as you work hard and attend class. He will challenge you to be a better artist, regardless of your interest level in sculpture, so long as you put the effort in you will learn a lot from him.

by far my favorite prof of all time. and no, im not being sarcastic. Because of gord, iv actually become more interested in sculpture, and i feel like my skills as an artist have grown quite a bit. If your ready to work hard, take this class. but if your just another a **** looking for praise and a good mark, go somewhere else.

Gord is GREAT! His investment in your education is directly proportionate to how hard you work hard, how far you push yourself, and how frequently you attend classes - in other words, how seriously you take yourself as an artist. I'm thankful to have disregarded negative comments about Gord as I have learned more from this man than any other on cam

Came off as somewhat unprofessional, with a level of maturity far from what you'd expect from a head of a university department. Class went from about 20 students in September to about 4-5 by the end of the year, due to everyone dropping out as a result of Gord. They were the smart ones.

Altough I did'nt learn much about Sculpture, I learnt a lot being an artist. His critical opinion of my work, forced me to really think about what I was doing. I am not a better sculpter from this course, but I am a better artist, be ware though you need a thick skin for his course, and the intelligence to know that what he says is only an opinion.

Gord may be a smart guy, but between him and his tech, the ogling and “leering” is a bit much. I suggest that you get out while you can and find a better school. Ok, so Gord can be a little intimidating, and he has his opinions. But seriously, this is an art class and if youre not prepared to be questioned and drilled dont come! Gord is an extremely smart man and he knows what hes talking about. Listen to him carefully. Ask questions and be productive and youll get alot more out of the class.

Very unhappy with the course. If your ideas of art don't conform to his, expect to be constantly shut down and get bad marks. His 'favourite' students often make the worst art. So confusing.
