Comment:
Boller gets a bad rap, some of it is justified some is not. The Good: This dude knows his stuff. Bring your laptop, write down what he says word for word and review your notes. If you do this easy A. The Bad: Painfully lame jokes that are hard to sit through, he loses track of his thoughts fairly often. He seems to ramble often. Show up, take notes

Although everyone dreads taking him, Boller knows the material extremely well and has lots of experience with law. Although his teaching style could use improvement, if you come to class every time and take good notes, it is very possible to do well and get an A. Tests are curved.

You have to recall what he says from class word by word, even if it contradicts the text book. I used up 3 legal pads for this class alone and had to rewrite my notes as well as make flashcards to recall everything. Knowing hypotheticals is a must in order to receive a good grade. I highly suggest study groups and sharing materials.

After 4 years at Loyola, Boller is hands down the worst professor I have ever experienced. His teaching style is very hard to follow and he is EXTREMELY unhelpful. His exams are set up for students to fail and he provides no help and makes students feel stupid for asking questions. DO NOT TAKE HIM!

I would not recommend taking this teacher. His thoughts are all over the place and he is a slob. Just stop by his office and you will see what kind of a teacher he is. Garbage.

Boller knows his stuff, that being said he is a terrible teacher! He is a character who is funny to watch bumble around class but it gets old real quick. He lectures and the class is based on exactly what he says "WORD FOR WORD." It's an interesting topic but Boller makes it hell since it's already tough.

A lot of people will tell you he is a bad teacher, but in reality he is just a professor that will not spoon-feed you. Though the topics he discusses are confusing he does give you multiple examples of each topic. Also his tests are basically what he says in class so don't miss class. Overall, not bad, just confusing at times, but read over notes.

If you miss one class, you will be way behind. Having good notes, attending every class, and doing some extensive reading will help you succeed in this class. If not, you'll probably fail the class or do marginal at best. Otherwise, he is a good professor.

Worst Professor at Loyola. He may know what he is talking about, but he is unbearable to listen too. he thinks he's funny, but isn't. Threatens student by failing them if they don't laugh at his jokes. He is mono-tone the whole class and will put you too sleep within minutes. If you don't have multiple sets of notes don't expect to pass

I don't know why everyone complains about him. He really is a nice guy and tries his best to make jokes. If you attend class and take good notes (literally word for word) you will do fine. Oh and make sure you type your notes, it's so much easier and you'll be able to write everything down. There's no point of buying the book.

MUST TAKE WORD FOR WORD NOTES. Try to get someone's notes from a pervious semester as well and have them explain the test structure to you. If you are not good at memorizing, I would take the other prof, otherwise this class is very interesting. Don't buy the book. Make notecards for TOAs and understand hypos. Also quizzes are straight definitions

So you have to go to class and take detailed notes. I hate to break it to you, but that's part of the college experience! So long as you take very detailed notes and study them a lot, you will do well. He curves like crazy. On the second test, he just added 25 points to everyone's test (the test is out of 100). Just take him and get it over with!

You have to go to class every day and take good notes. His tests are based on his notes so don't buy the book. But an easy A if you take good notes and study (even just the day before).

One of the worst classes I have ever taken. Boller is not a bad guy, he just has a really bad teaching style. The exams are extremely difficult and only cover material in his lectures, so the book is pretty much useless. He is very dry and really inefficient.

Extremely difficult professor to take tests for. Do not take him unless there is no way around it. He makes it exceedingly difficult, and class time drags every single day.

You must understand what he is looking for on the test and quiz questions. Get as many sets of notes from previous/other students as you can, then memorize and KNOW the material. This is the Only way to get a good grade. I recieved a "B"

The key to this class is to adapt to his teaching style. Take WORD for Word notes of what he says, memorize all definitions/notes verbatim and understand cases in terms of their legal steps and on what rules apply. Don't even bother buying the text book since he tests only what is covered in class. It isn't hard to get an A, just take good notes.

This man is Satan incarnate. I wrote down what he said in class WORD FOR WORD, studied it, memorized it, and it still wasn't good enough. Sets class up for failure: "you're not going to graduate until your grandkids do." AVOID AT ALL COSTS
