Professor Flanzbaum is honestly a great woman who cares about her students. Poetry is definitely not the easiest PCA, but if you show up and do your work you should be in good shape to succeed. She grades reflections pretty tough, but she is all around a decent lady.

Had to take this class because it was the only one available; not really sure what it was going in. Doesn't put anything on Moodle. Wasn't a whole lot of work but ended with a B because of a final write (that you couldn't prepare for) and not making enough changes on one poem; went from an A to a B because of two things... Really frustrating

She really knows what she's talking about when it comes to the texts; however, she can sometimes get caught up in her interpretation and forget that others can have their own. Additionally, there is not always explanatory history to back up texts when necessary. She is not hard, but will require daily reading and bi-weekly writing assignments.

She will kick your ass, but you will come out a better English student for it. Loves to turn things (including students) on their heads. Not easy whatsoever. Knows what you're capable of and will push you to reach your potential. Everyone should take her at least once.

Some of the material just really stinks, but overall she's great. Her writing style is a little different but it's not hard to adjust to. Doesn't leave incredibly enlightening comments on papers, but is especially helpful with thesis development. She has a bad reputation, but I think some people just want an easy prof. Friendly and interesting.

Absolutely ridiculous. Totally opposite of everything you've ever learned in English before this class. Will dock points if you use a word that she wouldn't have used in your paper even if it means the same thing! Very frustrating.
