Science interests me for certain things, but it's not a topic I particularly enjoy. Took this as a summer class. EVERYTHING was online-labs, quiz, reading material, tests, email correspondence. It went a lot better than I expected due to working my butt off and the teachers immense motivational emails and eagerness to help and answer questions.

The book and online portion is expensive but the program was great! I took it as a summer class so it was a lot of work. Take your time with the homework assignments to help you grade, do all the extra credit! Its worth it. I highly recommend her! It isn't an easy class but if you put in the work, youll do fine! I work full time and have a baby!

The text book seems to have a better grasp that this is a class required for fields other than bio than she does. She has given me more work in this class than all 5 of my classes last semester combined. I am an English major and I actually used to really like biology until I took Jean Billerbeck's class. Atrocious teacher, and an even worse person

Billerbeck is insane. She teaches you nothing and is stuck on this thought that lectures are not helpful for students. Which is a setup to fail for those who do better listening instead of reading. Rest of your grade is all group work, which is not fair if you get stuck with people who won't participate. Be prepared to do this course on your own.

I like Professor Billerbeck - she is funny and very intelligent - but had a sense that she considers herself superior to students who aren't studying the sciences. There was a constant atmosphere of "I'm better than you and you wouldn't understand if I tried to explain more".

I had her for Biology 1005 and she was very helpful. It is an easy class if you are willing to do the work. Weekly power points that you present to the class at the end of the week. She is there to answer any questions you might have with your particular topic. Always has some funny stories to tell to the class. Will recommend to people.

Professor B seems like an easy Professor. Man was I wrong. She DOES NOT LECTURE. You must read the book on your own, take notes (for a grade), take online tests and create a PowerPoint every week in groups then you must present. We are the teachers not her. This needs to be a lecture class! Be prepared to feel stressed and to work with others!

Dr. B is awesome. I'm taking her class right now and it is really easy. She's genuine about her work and doesn't put of with anyones crap which is cool. SUPER EASY. Just online quizzes(easy) and powerpoints(easy) each week. Definitely take her class.

Self taught class with peers, all you do is power points, present every week and lab once a week. she lets you miss up to 5 classes but that's a lot zeros in the end. she doesn't teach you unless she comes over to your group and asks questions but an easy A

If you like bio, you will love her class if not it will be a long semester. She is nice but a tough grader! Class is taught by your peers and the power points they construct. BE ON TIME! Takes no excuses at all! I tore my ACL,MCL and PCL and my first day back from surgery was late becasue I was on crutches and she would not give me class credit.

Genuinly nice personality. Dr. B sticks to the same routine each week - students prepare powerpoints and present them and there is also a lab each week. you have to attend at least 10 of the 13 possible labs in order to recieve a grade. there is no extra credit - this class is easy if you prepare and communicate well with your group members.

If you do your work, this class is very easy. She does not do make up work or extra credit because there are already 350 extra points incorporated into the class(you need 900-1000 for an A) Every week is the same, read a chapter, then do a power point. Must attend 10 labs through the course. If she is absent, you don't lose points.

If you can't pass her modern bio class, you are either extremely lazy or just stupid. She barely teaches, but if you ask for help, she'll give it. There are no tests, just online quizzes, which are NOT hard. The rest of the work is group powerpoints. I've missed 3 whole weeks and currently have an A in that class. EASY AS HELL.

Her class was a waste of time and money. she doesn't teach at all. she makes the class seem like its great but once you get into it its very hard. anything you need to know you have to teach yourself and even then, the quiz is ridiculous. plus you have to teach the class with ppts so really she does nothing.

She is a really nice lady. She does know her stuff. But she doesn't teach the class at all. When you want help you won't get much unless during a lab. You have to rely on other students for most of you grades. You also have to teach yourself. Good Luck!

In the begining she was funny she swears alot which is the funny part. But she doesnt teach and she will tell you this (she coaches) and she has the kids grade. The class was really useless because she DOESNT TEACH you have to teach yourself. the labs are okay. But this is how she would teach if you had her 3 times a week. say MWF.. once u recieve

at first she seems funny and ok, but after taking her and getting a D b/c she is unfair and unclear, there are many nicer professors. VITO is the best bio professor i had, but i truely think that billerbeck is too busy trying to save the world from over population and such that she doesn't get the material across clear enough.

Dr.B is a dedicated indiv. who is deeply commited to her field. By involving the class in the grading scheme, she is teaching an important lesson-peer review. Your success in science is directly tied to your application of knowledge, interpretation of data, and the respect you recieve from your peers. Consider this a lesson not taught in any book

She is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. She doens't teach, all you do is powrpoints and your grade depends on other people way too much.
