His class was interesting. As not a business or economics major I was not very interested, but I definitely learned a lot. His accent makes it hard to understand him, but he is funny and offers extra credit. Assigns nightly homework which is helpful and he curves his tests significantly.

He's a good professor, but it's not an easy class. His exam is about 8 pages. Avoid the front row because his breath smells. Requires a long research paper, but it's a rewarding class.

Funny Professor, keeps lectures interesting - loves and knows his subject. Lecture notes are scattered and sometimes hard to follow. Definitely willing to help if you need it. Homework every night but its really easy. Exams are hard, you have to work for a good grade.

Hes retired and still teaching because he enjoys it. He really wants you to learn and will go out of his way to give you that chance. I wish he taught something else that i had to take-even though i did poorly in his class-because i enjoyed his lectures.

He is French, so he can be hard to understand. He is a pretty funny guy, but is VERY scattered. His notes are scattered, and his classes are pretty disorganized, so I was lost a majority of the class. Homework everynight from the textbook. Funny guy, but wouldn't recommend him unless you're an Econ pro.

Take seminar class if you're a business senior - awesome discussions and great insight. He might be hard to understand but you might ignorant if you can't get his drift. He's by far the smartest prof in the Walker COB. He'll help you any way he can, not to mention he's retired and still teaching and enjoying classes.

Had him for freshman seminar he is hard to understand because of his accent. Hard to know where the grades come from. Hes a nice guy but not the best teacher. A lot of homework no tests for Economoic Growth and Change class but a paper that he is not clear on what he wants.

Took freshman seminar way to seriously, I'm just glad he realized it early into the class. Had several readings or assignment assignments due every day. Used h/w only to take attendance. Loves to scrutinize work done by students, ends all presentations belittling your work. Take another teacher if at all possible.

My favorite Professor so far at App State. No attendance policy, but if you go to class he will notice, b/c many will skip out. He gives lots of assignments that are easy if you do them, and they will improve your grade. I got an A.

Favorite professor so far in College. A little difficult to understand at first due to French accent, but gets easier. Go to class and pay attention and he will work with you. Don't expect an A, but it's not that difficult to get one. You will learn in this class.

Dr. Courbois was my favorite professor in my whole undergrad career. He is so helpful and really cares about his students and the subjects he teaches. That doesn't mean you won't work hard though. His classes were very challenging and took a lot of out of class work. You leave the class really feeling like you learned something. Read the text!

This was a very interesting class. Professor Courbois is a very intelligent person. If you want to learn a lot and do not mind putting a little time in you will get a lot out the class and you will get the right grade for the amount of effort you put into the class.

Difficult to understand both what he is saying and the material he is trying to teach. Difficult to stay awake in class, His tests are pretty hard even though he more or less tells you what will be on it. Count on reading the book and teaching yourself this course, as he doesn't do a very good job at it.

Courbois is a great professor. He makes clear points and definitely makes material more interesting than it seems it could be. No policy, but in order to do well in any class, you must ATTEND. The class isn't that hard. Any (8) 1-page papers? I mean come on guys, that's barely anything. Wake up, you're in college! Nice guy outside of class, too.

Good luck trying to understand this guy. He will NEVER respond to emails. Probably the most boring teacher i have ever had, and his tests are half multiple choice, half short answer....which equals bull crap, real hard to pass, quizzes everyday, and 8 papers......and to the person that said his personality fits his material , right.... dont take

Prof courbois is one of my favorites! If you can get past the french accent, he's easy. He posts notes online for the tests, gives bs attendance quizes, and the current event papers don't even have to be a page long, just relevant to the class topic.

Econ 3410 was a great class. I think Dr. C's persona fits really well with the material: international economics. He is fun to listen to and makes logicial points, even if he does stray a little bit. It is clear he loves his work.
