The class is a lot of work if you don't put in an effort but overall it wasn't that bad. If you go see her she'll help you with the material and even your paper that is worth 20% of your grade. I recommend her for both classes she teaches!

I loved having Dr. Ryan as my professor! She gives many examples to help make the information easier to understand. As long as you study the text book terms, pay attention and take notes on the lectures, and memorize the diagrams you will get an A on all the tests.

This class was very hard for me. I attended every class, but on tests I would get full credit on one question, but none on the next. I thought I was going to fail. After the final, Dr. Ryan suggested I take an incomplete and come back next semester. I did so and got a B, and since I had an incomplete, my transcript only shows the class once.

I learnt so much from her classes! She is really helpful if you show your interest in the subject and work hard. Pay special attention to diagrams, will help you earn easy points (relatively!)in exams. Utilize the cd.

I thought this course would be a nice challenge, and interesting enough to make up for how much work it took- it wasn't. Dr. Ryan is a smart woman, but she has a lot of trouble bringing the material down to a level where other people can understand. I learned things on my own by studying the ppt notes and reading the book, nothing from her lectures

she's a ridiculously hard teacher. she reads from a powerpoint but jumps around from one slide to like four ahead of that one and then will go back like five slides and it's really confusing. she's way too smart for her own good. when you try to ask her a question she rambles everything she knows about the subject but still doesn't manage to answer

Biopsych is an extremely hard class and it requires ALOT of studying. Dr. Ryan makes class as easy as she can and is a brilliant, approachable, kind woman. Just study study study - and be sure to know the diagrams (you can rack up points that way!).

Dr. Ryan is one of the smartest professors ar PSU but her teaching style is terrible. Some people have to take her class numerous times. You would think she would change her teaching style after curving test 20 points. As an advisor she is the worst, she favors some while ignoring others.

Comment:

Hard class, but very interesting. Dr. Ryan really cares about students and truly wants them to understand the info. I studied a lot and got an A, and a year later still remember a lot of the info. Definitely worth taking the class!

She is one of the smartest people in the department but she can't teach. She goes too fast and can't explain anything on a level "normal" people can understand. Too much info. She'll find the cure for cancer before she could teach a class proper

Dr.Ryan is one of the kindest people I've ever known. She is a very good teacher who is devoted to what she teaches and studies. An intelligent, caring, and a very educated professor. We can't ask for more.
