Jearl is one of the best professors at CSU. His lectures and solutions manual really help on exams, which happen every week. Physics can typically be boring, but he makes everything about physics very interesting. It is quite hard to get an A, but it is also hard to get a D or F. As long as you put the work in, you will do fine.

Jearl Walker is AMAZING. If you have the chance to be his student, do it. It is my greatest regret not taking Jearl's class for Physics II as well, but alas, my schedule would not allow it. Dr. Walker is truly a wizard of physics, and you will be in safe hands in his class! He's made me love physics.

Greatest professor I have ever had. Hes super funny and super easy to learn from. Exams every week and graded on a ranking system. Do better than 50% on exams every week and you will be in good shape. Homework assignments 3-4 times a week.

Love HIM. Dr. Walker is the best. He has really changed my view on physics. After taking physics 1 & 2 with him I am considering minoring in it. Beware that we do have weekly exams. His lectures can be very interesting, be ready to laugh.

A true living legend. One of the best professors ever. However , His exam still is a bit brutal in that if you start off doing bad you might dig yourself a hole. Another compliant is how fast the course material is covered i do not remember much from the course and i just took the course a semester ago. Weekly exams. Forced me to forget abouoldexam

Jearl is the best professor I've ever had at CSU! I am no longer terrified of physics thanks to this class. Every lecture is clear, concise, and entertaining thanks to the groupies (group classwork) and videos he shows. His "dances" (exams) are doable thanks to the old exam practice workbook from the bookstore.

Hands down the best teacher I've ever had, if you take physics you need to take his class. The class is rank based so if you are in the top certain amount of the class you get an A, homework will make a difference in that. Lectures are always entertaining and very helpful.

Learned a ton in this class. Great lectures(about 65% hm and test question review, 20% theory & concept, and 15% jokes and cool experiments or videos). Great online learning software. I sent about 10 e-mails of question over the semester and he got back to me within 16 hrs every time. Very cool, down to earth teacher and excellent teaching skills.

Jearl Walker AKA Steve McQueen is one of the greatest profs at CSU. I took Modern Physics and he broke down the difficult topics to something that everyone can understand. He does have weekly tests and hw but it is worth it. If you ask a question and do not understand, don't worry, he has about 5 more ways to explain it to you! -Chem. E.

Absolutely amazing prof. Makes the concepts clear and easy. I've had two classes with him now, and they were both great. He's insane. Be ready for a splash zone and lots of talk about penguins. That said, you absolutely need to do your homework and study for his weekly tests. The material is not messing around, but he's always there for you.

Jearl Walker is easily either my number one or two favorite professor at CSU. His lectures are funny as well as informative. He definitely knows what he is doing and is a great teacher. Just know that the class itself is time consuming with HW and lab. Also there is a test every week. I know next semester I will be cursing wishing I still had Jearl

Had Walker for both physics 1 & 2 and honestly the best professor at CSU. He really cares about he students. If you are willing to put in the work and learn you will do well. You have a lot of homework every week and an exam every week but he gives you all the tools to succeed and will do anything to help his students. If you fail then its on you.

This guy is amazing. I hate physics and he managed to make it tolerable. Gives great examples. Easy to pay attention to. Presents material clearly. The best thing about Jearl is his devotion to teaching. If you go to his office he will work as many examples as you need. It is impossible to fail this class as long as you ask for help.

Without a doubt, Jearl is the best professor I've ever had. Not only are his lectures entertaining, but they are also very helpful, as is going to his office hours. The only reason why I didn't leave a 5 for easiness is because you obviously have to work for an A in any respectable physics class. Jearl curves by class ranking. Top 15% get As, etc.

Jearl (he asks his students to call him by his first name) is the best professor I have had so far at Cleveland State. You will work hard for your grade, but he explains difficult concepts extremely well, and keeps the class light with his witty humour. The man is a legend; get in his class if you have the chance.

Jearl is awesome. I learned a lot over the past semester and he was honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. His tests can get crazy and the reading questions are REALLY stupid, but you'll learn a lot from his class. The weekly tests can get annoying, but it does actually make test information more localized, so it is a mixed blessing.
