Comment:

Dr. Ackil is eager to answer questions before/after class and wants her students to understand fully. Studying is a must-3 tests are 75% of the semester grade. Studying the research studies is highly recommended. The textbook is a good reference but she tests on what is covered in lectures during class-Take notes! Hard class but I learned a lot!

Ackil is a very fun and charismatic professor, but don't let that lull you into a false sense of security, because she's also a brutal grader. She's going to want details and precision, so you best be prepared to drill research articles into your head. She's more than happy to explain how to improve as well.

She is a horrible teacher with a shrill voice. Her grading is very inconstant. This class is a huge waste of time and should not be required for any degree.

Her Lectures are interesting and helpful. If you pay attention in class and take class notes you should be fine. Study for her Exams! If you are struggling in her class go to her office hours for help. She might seem intimidating, but she is the best! If you want an easy A, this in not the class for you. Could have done better if I read the book.

Proffesor Ackil is hands down the best prof. She is clear about what she wants from you and clear in her lecture. She is also very funny and extremely helpful to her students. Tests are tough and come mostly from her lecture rather than in the book. Her class requires you to put much effort but you'll learn lots!

I loved Ackil's class. She was extremely clear on what you need to know. The class requires work like all classes but there wasn't any busy work and I really felt like I learned a lot. Her examples make everything easy to remember. Definitely a class to take if you get the chance.

Prof Ackil seemed nice enough at the beginning of the semester. Her power points are simple and informative but unimaginative. She is always very clear in class. She however decided she did not like me about halfway through and has since been cold and harsh towards me. It is very sad to be treated such in my major classes.

So far professor Ackil is one of my favorite at Gustavus. A lot of people thought her tests were tough, but she does a good job at testing you to see if you actually know the material. She knew my name without me ever even talking to her and she cares for her students. A great professor!

did fairly well in her class, read the material, took the tests, but from day 1, she seemed not to like me, and for some reason had a negative attitude toward me for all of January... It kind of bothered me to have a prof treat me so poorly in a class for my major...

Great professor. She goes almost completely out of the book. Her powerpoints are clear and easy to understand. She's not the most exciting professor, but not boring. Good at explaining things. I recommend reading the book before you come to class, just because then you know what she's talking about, and you'll get more out of it.

Extremely nice. Willing to help in any way. Lectures aren't too boring, and tests are based almost completely on them. Test questions can be wordy, but not too bad. Overall, great prof. Really passes on her love of psychology.

Very clear and concise during lecture. On the level with students and willing to help. Definitely have to study for exams, but everything is based off of lecture.
