This was a hybrid course. Professor Jody is very personable, and tailors the class to fit her students. She allows us to have our input in the course. There is two required essays, do your best and be specific, your grade will reflect. There's one digital project, pretty easy. Complete ALL discussion post! Turn in drafts and group edits ON TIME!!

Jody is the best professor Ive had at gsu so far which says A LOT. I took her hybrid 1101 class, which was a great experience. She really takes the time out to make sure that everything is running smoothly. You can tell she really enjoys her job and she never disappoints. Not a hard class at all, I genuinely enjoyed it.

Jody, (as she tells all her students to call her) is the BEST instructor I have EVER had. She is funny as hell and also cares about your grade. No test, no quizzes, and no final. Just 4 papers. The papers are actually interesting . She gives you 4 topics to choose from for every paper. She was pregnant when I had her class and she was happy 24/7(:

Took her for Narrative Techniques. She is very down to earth, relatable, funny, inspiring, really knows her stuff about writing short stories and relating content to all types of literature. Very approachable, respectable, and just someone you'd want to know. Would take her x100 for any class.

Jody is super nice and down to earth! She's very passionate about what she does but it always open to new ideas. If you don't understand something she's always ready to help and willing to work with you until you understand. She grades for effort. If you show that you put in the time and effort then you shouldn't have to worry about your grade.

She's great. She's incredibly down-to-earth and kind, and is passionate about what she does. I got Bs on both of my papers, though I was positive they'd get As when I turned them in, so she doesn't mess around with grading. She's excellent at helping to revise and edit, though, and I think I would've gotten As on my papers if I'd utilized her more.

I would not recommend her. Class was such a bore always dragged on and she never really had a specific task for us to do. We did the same assignment in class almost every week just with different papersvideos. She does in class assignments for attendance purposes they're easy. Her essays were easy but her grading isn't clear so you stay confused.

Amazing teacher. I absolutely loved her and would take her class again. 3 big papers (4-5 pages) and 6 smaller one-page papers, with the chance to correct a couple of them at the end of the semester as well as a bonus assignment. You have to work for your grade, but the class was the best I've taken at Georgia State.

I chose Jody due to her awesome ratings on here but let me tell u they are deceiving. She isn't the easiest grader. Her class is SO heavy on writing 3 big papers and 6 mini papers. She gives u an opportunity at the end of course to better ur grade by fixing an old paper. Not hard but just so heavy on work! I made an A but I had to work hard for it.

Nice professor and easy grader. Gives a lot of reading assignments, but you don't really have to read it because she reviews and summarizes each reading the next class. Writing assignments were pretty easy and straightforward. However, you don't really do much in the class besides discussions. Got kind of boring after a while...

Great professor! There is plenty of reading, of course, since she is an *English* professor. You don't necessarily need to go to every class but I would recommend it. No tests, just essays and responses. Super helpful and interesting. Don't procrastinate.

Took her in the summer semester. She had us read a lot of stuff, but the class only met 2 times a week. She is awesome though, I would definitely recommend her. She also grades pretty easy. 1 midterm, 1 final, 10 reading responses.
