Worst professor I have had. He rambles on incoherently and uses students in his class as "examples" very innapropriately. He even left a girl crying once after one such "example". PLNU really needs to re-evauluate it's standards on professors.

I had Dr Wright as my teacher about 20 years ago and I remember him and his classes with great fondness. Even though I didn't care for religion classes I always tried to sign up with him because he would make them thought provoking and sometimes entertaining. He was also a great advocate of students and one of the best people I have ever met.

This class had a lot of papers, but if you don't like your grade you can revise and resubmit. He is a great professor and I learned a lot! He's quirky but you get used to it. He cares so much for his students and is willing to help you out.

Dr. Wright is extremely intelligent and genuinely cares about his students. His classes are very difficult, teaching lofty material. He assigns a lot of homework, but actually takes the time to give individualized feedback on everything. He is very gracious about deadlines. Put in the effort and you will end up with a good grade and learn a ton.

Take Dr. Wright!! He the best professor I have had at PLNU. Yes, he's different from other professors, but in the best way! You'll learn SO much, never be bored and you'll die laughing! He cares immensely about his students and his heart for people is incredible. He is so knowledgable, and is an excellent professor!!

Worst teacher I've ever had. His talks don't make any sense and he can't keep a straight line of thought. He also goes for shock value with his in class examples and makes everyone uncomfortable. The only homework assignments were essays with prompts as confusing as his lectures.

Annoying. So hard to follow his train of thought. If you daydream for a second you'll be lost. All he does is lecture and assign essays. No handouts, powerpoints, etc. He is crazy and sometimes it can be funny, but if you don't like him, his craziness will just annoy you. And he grades hard.

DO NOT TAKE BIB101 WITH HIM. (especially at 7:30 a.m.) He is funny, but it's SO difficult to follow his train of thought... He will also always spring the assignments on you last minute like a sick joke. You only have 3 grades for the semester. If you fail one, you're screwed. Also, one of his essays is "write everything I taught you so far."

He's very engaging, but this course is not for someone who doesn't want to evaluate the way they think about theology & the church. Although I took this to fulfill my GE requirement, I learned more from this course than most.

John really cares about his students, & though he may seem very shocking in the first few classes, it's part of his teaching methodology. It works well, too--he makes you laugh while re-evaluating the way you think at the same time. Just watch out for flying chalk!

This class was life changing. I'm not a theo major and took it for pass/fail. He made me feel so important and valued!! Reading through and analyzing the book of Genesis and Revelation was eye opening. This class is a must for anything interested in theology. I never wanted class to end.

I had him for the NT/OT quads and it was awesome! He started off the semester trying to scare freshmen, but it's pretty easy to see through it. Take extremely good notes if you want an A and do all your reading. He's really fun and makes getting up early worth it.

Great Professor!! Can be hard but he is a great Man of God and really knows what he is teaching. He acts out everything using students in the class. He will go to any length for you to understand. He is by far my favorite professor and one of the men that I admire the most. I cried the last day of his class and would him again in a heartbeat!!
