Dr. Chatlos is such a good soul! He makes every student feel appreciated. You can tell he cares about everyone in his class and always encourages participation. Id say his grading is fair, if you come to class and do your stuff, he definitely wont fail you!

AMAZING professor, he's very considerate of his students. He makes everyone feel like their opinion is important! Participation is a huge part of your grade so be ready to talk, but don't worry, you can say anything and he'll make you feel like your point is valid. As long as you show up and do the little work he assigns you'll get an A.

He is very specific at what he is asking for, doesn't help when you go to him individually just makes you feel dumb for asking questions. Very harsh grader. Have to set aside Monday nights to go to his film viewings which attendance is mandatory for also. Wouldn't recommend this class.

He is always there to help the students and he is very respectful. He will actually listen to you and try to clear up any misunderstandings. If you are confused he will make sure you get it before class ends. There are two quizzes and two essays. Don't underestimate the essays if you show up to class and participate you'll do fine.

Very clear about the course and theme of each class. Gives direction accordingly. Very considerate about his students. Respects the course and opinions of every student. He will give you a new perspective in the simplest way. Prose fiction flows well with film fiction. He appreciates class participation but doesn't force it.

second class i've taken with this professor. it's clear he loves to teach, and really enjoys student participation. most classes are spent discussing the deeper meaning in literature. always a joy. i'd recommend you take ANY class with him. really, the best. i'm an art major, and i never felt out of place. also, most readings are short.

Fantastic teacher, probably my favorite in Plattsburgh. Not an easy A, but helpful enough that it may seem that way. If you do your work and ask him for helpclarification when you need it, you'll certainly pass. Made our class challenging and interesting enough to enjoy both the literary and cinematic aspects of the course.

English prof? no, more like saint . Made the information so clear and actually fun. Show up, do the readings and have things to say either in class or in your writing and you'll be golden. IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE TO HIS CLAS-DO DO NOT GO. Chatlos hates tardy to the party people, just be sure to make up the readings.

The best professor I've yet to have. The class is very interesting and always challenges you. I left that class thinking about some of the discussions we had in class for a while after. Also, he's very sweet and understanding. If you can take any course with him, do it. He knows his stuff and he can teach.

Probably the best professor I've had in my whole college career. He genuinely cares about his students, and wants them to succeed. He even changed around the syllabus so we would do better in the class. You can tell he loves what he does and knows what he teaches. So glad I took a couple classes with him. I highly recommend any class with him!

You will probably NEVER have a BETTER teacher in your life. He is the most incredible professors I've encountered- highly intelligent, but humble, genuine &nice. Loves his students& material, but is not high-strung or spastic in his passion. He's very dependable&consistent. He puts a lot of thought into his teaching style&changes when he needs to.

Great teacher who has a geniune love for what he teaches. Extremely smart. A lot of reading, but most books are interesting. Great conversations in class. Only two essays. He's available during office hours for help with writing them. Great for ENG 163, too.

This is one of the most enjoyable classes I have ever taken. It turned out to be quite interesting, and we watched a lot of good movies. There is a lot of writing in this course, but he's an easy grader if you put effort in. Not sure why he has the chili pepper, but he is good looking for his age. I recommend this class.
